I don't get why so many people want big clans. I made one just to make getting with friends easier with extra benefits. I just don't see the appeal in having 30 extra strangers there.

    Probably for the clan rewards. Unless they are scaled to the size of the clan, it will probably be much easier for a max size clan to get the rewards.

    I joined what's now a fairly big clan during D1 when I first got the raiding bug. It all got uber serious and political after a while. Kept in touch with a few of the gang who are now long time online buddies. Lesson learned though. It's only a game people!

    The more people in the clan the more chances you have to form a team as quickly as possible. Many of us aren't picky about who we play with. I have no real life friends playing so all my destiny friends were at one time strangers

    Clan size is extremely easy to measure, whereas Clan quality is difficult to appraise. For those who chase after the lowest hanging fruit, objectivity triumphs.
