Was never about can't handle them. It was boring and annoying for it to be the constant status quo. Made every encounter either in your face or sniper lane. Now I see it all. Close range, midrange, and long range. Constantly available special made very few choices the definitive answer choking the diversity out of the games encounters. I'm having battles in areas of the map I never saw used prepatch. I could care less what happens in 3v3. 6v6 is Better than ever. Special is still plentiful and those that use it well benefit. Shotguns could use a buff though.
Dealing with shotguns was never a challenge it got boring and annoying. Ohk weapons bore me. Fast paced doesn't mean not boring.
Once people adapt it won't be as easy anymore. People still aren't used to not always being prepared.

Theres not adapting to literally losing what made the playstyle. The midair nerf is one of the biggest nerfs a shotgun could have gotten simply because it directly effects the evasive maneuvers a shotguner must take to not be gunned down. I know a lot of people say shotguners tank bullets but its just simply untrue. You would never see such means to evade fire if that was the case. What wnds up happening is that since the one shot is like a 1/8th chance now while avoiding death, you will often not even cut an enemies shield and they will just finish you off. So you have to stay grounded, where as you know, you are more easily shot down and cut down/vunerable With a heavy luck factor, and much much more difficult terms to meet one shot requirements, it ends up being discouraging when you completely close the gap, evade fire, and dont get the kill and simply just get destroyed. Its quite literally like less likely reward for twice the effort including a handicap The only adapting that me and many others have done, has been switching to a sidearm which is much more versatile, actually consistent, and allows for defensive and offensive play, not only that it maintains all this while jumping. So sidarms immediately beat out shotguns. Despite having one shot capability. Not very good when the one shot has so many negatives. In a sense, they are the most overpowered guns in the game. Simply because what has been done to special weapons in the past years, and the loss of versatility to pirmaires

Well originally when they said they left out the rangefinder and in air accuracy nerfs I immediately posted not to implement them. Shotguns were fine as they were. That's why I think they need buffs now. But with constant availability they wouldn't be able to be buffed much because of that constant ubiquitous use risk again

I understand what you're trying to say but I feel like we're not using the same definition of "boring". Right now boring to me is just staying away from people, hiding when I need to, team shoot here, team shoot there. No real movement needed unless spawns flip, I need ammo, heavy is coming or I'm playing Control. Boring as in "I'm not doing much, just kind of shooting with my team and racking up kills". Whereas with the shotgun era I was running all over the map and also having to constantly check my surroundings because it was easy to get killed as a shotgunner. What it sounds like you're saying is that fast movement, getting all over the map, having to quickly deal with enemies before they get to you is boring. But just kind of milling around and staying near some kind of cover is not boring but rather, exciting?

작성자: Kone19ps 4/18/2017 9:47:17 PMWell first your reaction to this meta is very different from mine. I don't "mill around". You have chosen a playstyle that bores you so simply don't play that way. I rush. I'm usually the one leading the team charge and because I manage my special well i gain an advantage. I love jumping around people and doing tactical retreats if I need to to then hit them again right away. Sound to me like you never break mid range. You never extend yourself. You're creating your own boredom then. I rush in and rush out but I don't sit I usually just do a quick circle enough to gain my shield back and hit them again. I don't let up unless I'm outnumbered. Then I just lead them right into the teeth of my teammates because they just have to chase that kill. But also in 6v6 you have to be wary of lots of angles. You could be going after one and two will flank you or get clipped from the side. All that I find exciting. Not just one shot done restart or move on. The constant threat of shotguns is actually what made me play like you do now. I never extended myself to give a buffer zone against 6 shotguns constantly. Never pushed an advantage because you couldn't maintain a foothold against 2-3 bum rushers who didn't care about dying because there was no consequence. You get one and the others would get you. Or you'd trade constantly because shotgun ammo outlasted grenades cooldowns to buffer you against it. If they increased the primary ttk then it's just the same problem with all weapons. Easy boring twitch kills. It's why I don't play cod. It's boring as hell. I get a thrill out of out thinking an maneuvering an opponent in the long game. Not just constant twitch battles. That just gets mundane and boring after a while. Doesn't matter how fast paced it is. Lack of variety bores me and that's exactly what constant special did. Made almost every encounter exactly the same Clash is probably campier but in a control player mostly. I like an objective, but I don't like rift. Too dependent on one person
