TL:DR - People couldn't handle shotguns and needed PvP to be easier (not necessarily balanced though that is the excuse used by many) in general and it now is. Reasons explained below. Everything will tie in together with my main point if you read everything.
Because this is a PvP related post that deals with the fact that the special ammo nerf just made PvP easy, we all know the common attacks used by others that don't deal with the actual post but the "skill" of the OP or lack thereof. Due to that I will be including some of my own stats since the nerf only for the purpose of illustrating my point as well as background on my overall PvP stats.
Long story short, through Y1 and half of Y2 I didn't play that much PvP and I was bad because I couldn't adjust to people not being solely ground based in attack. Once I started to actually give PvP more than 0 fuqs I got good and pulled all of my characters up from ~0.6+ to over 1.0+ on each. Which obviously means that per game I'm averaging above 1.0. I still don't even play that much PvP so I pulled all these characters up without that many games even having to be played relatively speaking. Just wanted to go ahead and shoot down all the "git gud" BS ahead of time. EDIT: Want to add ahead of time - Just never found a team committed to learning and running Trials plus all the problems the game mode actually has so I just never had interest in it.
~Now that that's out of the way~
My style is definitely run and gun/balls to the wall and in any PvP like that I can be very good a lot of the time. Destiny was slower though so I had to adjust to hanging back a bit but admittedly I was definitely a shotgunner. Once I adjusted to slower play and basically running away at any hint of danger (boring AF) my K/D started to go up. Once I then learned that primary weapons were complete garbage and that most people would try to stand there while I rushed them I further climbed the K/D ladder. (HINT: The problem is primary weapons are garbage in this game except for very specific guns with specific rolls).
So once the recent ammo nerf happened, I was immediately pissed because I had started playing a little more PvP lately and I knew that my Invective would be almost useless now (I never ran meta shotty's becuase they fire too slow so frankly I hated Matador and PC+1). I finally decided to give PvP some play time after a week or so into the new nerf and as I feared, my shotgun was not only useless but once ammo did arrive for it, having to reload was cumbersome so getting ammo was not worth the hassle but the problem was that primary's are still largely garbage so it basically boiled down to abilities (lol, cannot believe stickies are the new crying point hahahaha but I guess 'tis Destiny after all...). I still floated around a 1 but it was just boring and shitty frankly.
Then I switched to fusion rifles (which I literally NEVER liked in my 2,000+ hours of Destiny) as I refuse to use squirt gun-esque sidearms (though I do love Tresspasser from time to time) and Bungie made it so ammo pick up auto reloads and everything fell into place. Since people can't rush me with shotty's and they all have garbage primary's, I pretty much just win now. It's too easy now.
My overall stats per game for the most part reflect this as evidence to back up my point (I'm not quoting my stats as some bragging thing but I know that will be the first thing under scrutiny). Just as a snap shot, here were "My Last 7 Games" per bnet on my Warlock last night in IB (my Warlock PvP build is Void Walker with Scatter nades, exotic used is Nothing Manacles and I use Saladin's Vigil for special, Crytpic Dragon for primary and the radar artifact, the Ghaleon one, so yeah, literally NOTHING meta about what I am using) was 2.67, 6.0, 2.33, 2.67, 1.38, 1.63 and 1.67 - those are from 4/17/17 basically as of this post. I got 2 or 3 "Best Around" medals as well. I still don't even play PvP nearly as much as most people but even aside from these last 7 games, when I do get on I seem to do a lot better now. I even screwed around with old Y1 stuff like Murmur and other stuff in PvP and have been doing fine.
So I say all of that to bolster my conclusion that I have come to - people just wanted PvP to be easy which is why they wanted shotguns and special nerfed and that is what they got. It's no wonder they're happy now, they are either finally getting above a 1 consistently by Bungie neutering everyone or they don't have to sweat as much now. See, dealing with shotguns is actually a challenge and people didn't want to deal with it or just couldn't.
While I'm doing great in PvP I still dislike it now. It's too slow paced and too team shooty. It's boring period/end/stop. People want to argue shotguns were boring, no no, shotguns were fast paced, you just died a lot. I died a lot too. It was nowhere near boring. So you see, my argument is not that I need my shotgun back, I obviously don't NEED it back. I'd rather have it back though or at least the option to use it in a viable sense.
I'm not posting this in the hope of a patch from Bungie as I think they're done with D1. I just wanted to express my thoughts on the matter.

1 답변I think the special ammo change has made pvp more skillful. Players are no longer able to rush around getting one shot kills and have to actually engage in gun battles. Funnily enough these players are struggling and whinging on the forums. Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.

1 답변Um... special ammo spawns every 60 seconds. Shotguns, snipers and fusions are still prevelent. Just not being used as a primary. In my opinion nothing has changed in terms of viability. Just some players are not capable of really working as a team or using everything they have. Did limiting special ammo make Crucible easier? Not according to all the cry babies asking for special ammo back, like it was removed or something.

I died all the time as a shotguner, its a high risk playstyle. It wasent just the people that couldent land hits on me that were dying, it was me too

9 답변작성자: Kone19ps 4/18/2017 9:18:56 PMWas never about can't handle them. It was boring and annoying for it to be the constant status quo. Made every encounter either in your face or sniper lane. Now I see it all. Close range, midrange, and long range. Constantly available special made very few choices the definitive answer choking the diversity out of the games encounters. I'm having battles in areas of the map I never saw used prepatch. I could care less what happens in 3v3. 6v6 is Better than ever. Special is still plentiful and those that use it well benefit. Shotguns could use a buff though. Dealing with shotguns was never a challenge it got boring and annoying. Ohk weapons bore me. Fast paced doesn't mean not boring. Once people adapt it won't be as easy anymore. People still aren't used to not always being prepared.
