I don't mean the aim assist stat you see in the database for snipers, I mean actual sniper aim assist itself.

Actually smartass, the higher the aim assist stat on a sniper the LONGER you feel that stickiness when you pull your reticle over someones head. I'm talking about the base aim assistance of which that makes getting on the head in the first place easy. Which is how aim assist works for all games. The slow down over the opponents head/body. Every sniper has the same base aim assistance stat, the destiny sniper aim assistance stat like I said is how long you feel that stickiness, which is why high aim assist snipers are easier to hit shots with because you have more time to hit the head after you've dragged over it. You don't have to be as precise with high destiny aim assist stat. That combined with the high BASE aa makes sniping easy as -blam!- for anyone. Don't try and correct me on shit you don't know.

Actually, that is what I said. The aim assist stat grants reticle stickiness and obviously, if a sniper has varying aim assist, the higher the stat the more reticle stickiness. Don't try and correct me on stuff that is obvious and doesn't need correcting. That's why I didn't mention it. When you say base aim assist which makes getting 'on a head' easier, that doesn't make sense. Your reticle doesn't just magically drag towards someone's face, which you might be implying there, although correct me if that is not what you mean. As has been clarified, aim assist slows down the reticle when already on someone's head. That is pretty much only helpful if doing sweep shots. Nothing else.

Actualyl, in destiny, most snipers have different base aim assist values. Also, the difference in time is barely a fraction of a second, so it does not make the largest difference. That being said, it still does make landing headshots ever so easier, but not by a large margin

It is sought after because it does make is slightly easier to snipe. It makes a difference, but not a massive difference. I have sniper with many different snipers, from an Eirene to a 1kys. Having a 1kys with hidden hand and shortgaze, switching to an Eirene, the difference in my sniping ability is small at best. Most of the perks on snipers aren't very good, so the few that are valued (hidden hand, hot swap, unflinching, grenadier, etc) are valued more highly, mostly because there is no real average perks. With aim assist, the only potential noticable difference in one's sniping ability with adjustments in aim assist, would be if you went from something like the eirene, which has very low aim assist, to a weyloran' march, which has very high aim assist.
