I'll be honest... As a PvP player.... If they would just bring back rerolling and elemental primaries, I wouldn't even care. (they would however need to massively nerf snipers. The state of the Crucible is simply sad currenty) As someone who enjoyed Y1... Y2 was a downgrade. Yes, 3ofC made exotic farming easier, but due to the nerf galore, and the completely uncompelling King's Fall Loot table (now ignoring the subpar weapons, why the eff is cocoon a perk that takes an actually useful node away? Reloading is never a problem in this game....), I didn't bother a lot with that part of the end game.

  • Re-rolling, while making the game far more competitive, did remove a lot of the joy that can be found in loot grinding. Getting a God roll to drop is one of the climaxes of this game to myself as well as many others. I think re-rolling should be implemented with the iron banner guns, as it was in year 1. That would add a significant value to them, as well as keeping the stock small and attainable to everyone. I say this because of things like the hopscotch nightmare: people grinding an activity they really don't enjoy simply so they could have a chance at a top-tier gun and then blow all their weapon parts on a good roll.

  • Most people seem to have yet to experience such a climax ... and not everybody is the gambler style of player you seem to be. I hate the lootery Destiny is offering. I prefer predictable results (hence I purchase all good vendor guns - pre-April patch Hung Jury ftw in PvE). I never got that truly perfect random drop (except for my DoP, but its perks are mostly pre-determined with very little variance, so you have a really good chance to get a god roll for it).

  • Have you noticed lately that certain factions (house judgement, trials, iron banner) seem to drop rolls with more desired perks? I've heard a couple podcasts mention it, and my clan mates have been discussing it. Bungie should remove a bunch of the garbage perks and up the drop rate. Or maybe I'm just wrong, and re-rolling is the way to go.

    I don't enjoy to grind away for 20 hours to have a chance at getting some useful PvP perks. If I play shotgun vs shotgun I will simply lose every time in a rangefinder vs non Rangefinder perk situation. As someone who has over 10 days of playtime in the Crucible, I still haven't gotten a useful Y2 PC. Or Eyesluna. Or whatever. Thus I keep using my Y1 gear (well, and because the perk combinations are better. An Against all odds with field Scout is hard to find nowadays. Or a sniper with HH and unflinching). I'm a PvP player, not someone who enjoys beating my head against the RnG wall to have an equal chance of beating my opponent. I was also a top 1% player before I switched to Halo.

  • Fair point, I have about as much time logged as yourself, though admittedly I haven't played much Crucible since the April update. I'm getting around to that soon. Re-rolling would dramatically cut a large amount of the grind for Pvp players. I can't disagree with that. Maybe my hesitation toward re-rolling comes from the meta we saw arise during the HoW Era. And while it sometimes felt cheap, at least it was somewhat equal opportunity for players who invested similar playtime. A viable alternative, in my opinion, would be an increase in legendary drops at the end game reward screen and iron banner gear re-rolling. One thing that re-rolling did was discourage people without the properly rolled gear from entering the Crucible, as they lacked the time played to gather both the weapons and material needed to aquire a good roll.
