The current track record of weapons indicates that the next crop of weapons won't be as good as vanilla weapons. If they aren't better, or at least equally good there are very good reasons to bring them along.

when your first raid weapons are the best through the next three xpacs, carrying along old weapons is the least concern. not having rewards that make new material worth playing should send it down the tubes. if you have the best weapons in game after playing vanilla, why play anything else? VoG seems to be the only good raid, only good weapons, and the drawback from progression. no incentive to play if what you already own is of better quality.

Yeah, I agree and that's what I was saying. I want to leave them behind for new, interesting and better gear but thus far it hasn't happened. There are a few weapons here and there that are as good, but nothing better.
