I feel bungie had such a success with Halo pvp they assumed everyone would like it in Destiny too. So we got Iron banners every month and never saw a queens bounty event ever again. Now the best gear is in trials. They want us to know pvp exists in this game and you should be playing.

  • So the raids, strikes, and nightfall events are there to say you should be playing PvP all the time?

  • The once a week nightfalls, old raids and stagnant strikes? If they included a new difficulties for the raids with updated loot and a playlist that added modifiers to the strike, than yes pve would have more stuff to entertain us. As of right now the best gear is in trials and even etheric light was added to Iron Banner. If it was a drop in the raids than they would be worth running still, as of right now they are not.

  • Trials is once a week, and the "old raid and stagnant strikes" were all there really were before HoW. PvP players were all bummed they had little content while PvE players got the good stuff. You're saying the raids are old and stagnant, but all trials is is one game mode. PvE got PoE and a new strike, new story missions, new modifiers, and also [b]3 exotic weapons that are exclusive to PvE.[/b] The rewards aren't even the best for PvP, let alone PvE. The best rewards are still in the raids (Praedyth's, FB, BH etc). The armour isn't even any good in ToO, they just look pretty good... IB got etheric light, but all the rest of the rewards are bad...

  • The armors are all better from too, you get one extra perk that is not raid/enemy specific. Gauntlets that have a primary weapon reload as well as heavy or special reload. Boots that can carry two different types of ammo. Prison of elders gear is nothing worth having honestly, all the weapons from trials will over shadow any of them. The fallen perk means one of your perks is unusable versus the other races. This game wasn't advertised and sold as a pvp game, so why put the current best end game gear in pvp? If prisons gear was as good as trials it wouldn't even be an issue.

  • Except so far the additional perks on the armours for sale have been pretty bad, and the weapon loaders can be purchased/earned... I have a Crota gauntlet with special loader and increased grenade distance and I use that over trials every time. The chance of getting good armous is small being as you only have so many chances a week. I've been using Her Benevolence over a few snipers I have too... The only Trials weapon I really enjoy is The Messenger, which I wouldn't use competitively anyway. It was advertised as an MMORPG shooter, obviously there would be PvP content. The raid gear is still some of the best gear in the game. PvE players are just bummed that PvP got something good for change. Vault has Praedyth's revenge and FB, arguably some of the best end game gear available. CE has BH and SB. You guys got the Ves Mythoclast, a very good weapon in PvP and that means PvP players had to grind in PvE to get it. Your argument for the "best gear" is an additional reload speed and some additional ammo. I'd argue PvE is currently ahead of PvP.

  • PVP from Halos was the only pvp I liked - mostly a driver/wheelman so it sort of fit with being a driving gamer Was looking forward to Destiny pvp and still bummed at all the things they seem to have forgot how to do Pretty much all of Destiny PVP is CQC, 1 or 2 shot kill with a couple maps where a sniper is an ok option over a shotgun, nothing decent to drive, no custom maps, no private matches, no theater mode, no custom game types, no forge, insert long list here... Still hoping they can put some of the stuff (from a mid 2000's game) back in for taken king

  • Too bad they didn't incorporate more of the things they learned from Halo in to Destiny's PvP. Halo had a ton of different and unique game modes and that's what kept it fun and interesting.

  • I agree, lack of game modes and options hurt destiny pvp. I feel it is more forced on the player than an alternative to pve.

  • That's true, but a lot of their player base are pve players. It would have been nice to see a monthly pve event for players to grind rep for gear as well.
