It's why the load screen lags when someone connects from orbit but hasn't fully landed. You have about 1/6th chance of keeping your host status if the fireteam has 6 members.
I think the term Destiny uses for it is "Matchmaking" despite the fact that the team members in PvE are decided by you. It's also why sometimes you see random names pop up in your fireteam death screen sometimes.
No. It's because they are still loading in. The game delays to wait for their game to catch up. If you join in on a player in the raid by himself he is host until he leaves.
Not sure if we're talking about the same thing... in my scenario that I mentioned above they don't join on you in orbit or while you're landing. The swordbearer has to be in the raid already, this ensures you maintain the host (people used this method for the crota disconnect cheese.)
Not sure if it resets when you wipe but it definitely gave us 2-3 solid bug/lag free runs. Try it out and let me know if you notice a difference if the bugs are an issue for your crew. Curious to hear back from everyone. Def worked for us.
We are talking about 'host' and as you know, a wipe causes a new host to be chosen especially when that Crota disconnect cheese was popular. You had 1/6th chance of keeping 'host'.
If you were able to cheese after a wipe as host, you beat the odds.
Hmmm ok so then as annoying as it may be you'd have to leave and come back each time you wipe... lame but will def get rid of the laggy bugs and glitches. Worth a shot if you're having trouble with all that nonsense. We'll be doing this everytime from now on.
