I'm going to believe the same people that said the Cryptarch was going to give more legendaries after they made him harder to upgrade.
He screwed up telling the truth and his boss asked him to deny it. If you followed statistics you would know he's not random, unless he's heavily controlled.

Always seems interesting to me people who get faced with information from an official source which they have no ability to prove as false and yet dismiss it as false because they just "know" it is. And everyone's "statistics" arguments that I have seen so far have not only been miscalculated in obvious ways (like forgetting the obvious fact xur sells one piece of armour for each class not one across all three) but also rely on the assumption that each weapon has the same chance to drop, or in this case be included in Xur's inventory. This seems unlikely due to the frequency that DLC weapons seem to drop over others.

Always seems interesting to me how stupid people are doing simple math. If I tell you you're not getting a full house after shuffling cards, I may not be right all the time, but I have one in almost 10,000 chances that I will be right. That's statistics. Study the Bayesian Theorem before you go with unfounded guesses.

Yes sorry I am stupid. Please detail for me precisely the odds of Xur selling the same gun twice in a row or same piece of armor 5 times in a row. Please list all your assumptions and the effects of the assumptions, and please describe Bayesian Theorum for me. Then I will consider your proposal.

In November, after week 10, when there was sufficient data of Xur's inventory, an actual statistician discredited the randomness in Xur on Reddit. That, all went but confirmed after the DLC, when the DLC stuff became heavily weighed in their favor. Do not trust Bungie. They advertised the first Iron Banner as a non-level playing field, until some guy on YouTube shamed them, showing them how he could bring a low-level character into it, and wreck level cap players, with the freaking Khvostov. After that video, DeeJ tried to spin it into something that sounded like it was still what they advertised. Everyone smelled the bullshit. If you suspected the first Iron Banner was bullshit, there was a reason why. If you suspect the Cryptarch didn’t raise it’s probability of dropping legendaries, you may be right (I have leveled the Crytarch 17 times since, and only one legendary drop, so for all accounts, they lowered his drop rate). Xur is not RNG. It doesn’t make sense personally, but also statistically. You guys have to put Bungie on the spot when they’re bullshitting you, just like the guy who did the Iron Banner video.
