Nope. Different type of nuclear. This is nuclear fusion, something that humans cannot yet achieve on earth. Humans are trying to replicate it on earth, but the energy needed to control it surpass energy made, and cold fusion is theoretically possible but so far not done. As a result, it's mostly not talked about. Also there is no air in space. At all. So your point was wrong on all counts.
