You forgot the credibility arguments:
If someone hasn't played the game in a while, the response is, "You just come here to bash on the game, even though you aren't playing it anymore. You don't have any credibility."
If someone has played it recently, the response is, "Even though you think the game sucks, you're still playing it. You don't have any credibility."
It's true what a lot of people have said: some take any critique of Destiny as a personal attack.

That's because any approach to criticism of destiny that I have seen make out that the people who enjoy playing it are morons and the destiny bashers are on some sort of intellectual high ground. Spoiler alert: They aren't. I'm sure there are people who are constructive and polite about it but I haven't seen any so quite frankly I (and no doubt many others) are sick of it.

Musashi Orboro3により編集済み: 12/15/2014 4:44:26 AMI think that attitude appears equally on both sides. I have seen plenty of posts where people are calm and constructive in their criticisms. The problem is that someone always seems to resort to personal attacks, and then the thread becomes focused on that, to the exclusion of the original topic.

That's because the internet is open season to people with sand in their pants. If people don't like the game, fair enough. I do and for someone to insinuate that I'm a moron for enjoying will receive the appropriate level of rebuke. I've seen so much indignation of people who think they've somehow been "robbed" or "cheated" that I'm starting to realise that most of the bashers haven't lived in the real world for some time. It always seems to be the same people and for them to go onto a forum and sit and slate a game they themselves have spent 150+ solid hours on since september defies belief. Someone argued that the time spent allowed them to establish an experienced opinion on it. If it took me over 150 hours of my time to realise I didn't like something I wouldn't be admitting to it.

After all the promises and hype, people expected a lot more from this game. Many people feel as if it did not live up to expectations, and rightly criticize it for that. If you like the game, then that's fine, but unless someone specifically disparages you for your enjoyment of the game, there's no reason to feel offended by the people who believe that they have't gotten their money's worth. I myself played it for over a month (100+ hours), but it didn't take me that long to realize that I didn't like. The reasons I kept playing were that I thought Bungie would improve it, and I had friends to play with. I no longer do, and have stopped playing. I wish Bungie would do more to improve it, but I don't have high hopes anymore. At this point, it's just a mediocre game.

See you state "it's just a mediocre game". I disagree I think it's a great game. What could it have been? Bit more player interaction? Yes that would be alright but to be honest I'm not really bothered. I'm not much more interested than a passing wave whilst I'm on patrol. We can communicate with each other if we want, i dont really want to. More story? Yes that would be nice but I don't play a game for a story. If I want a good story I read a book. I look at what it does well: gameplay, artwork, generally cool shiny shooty stuff and enjoy it for what it is. A shooter I can play with friends or strangers whenever I like that has character and gear progression. I'm happy with that.

Alfyにより編集済み: 12/15/2014 7:27:19 AMI guess others , meaning review sites think other wise. The game is a failure and the only thing keeping it alive is the game mechanics. I always find it funny when gamers state " go read a book " if a person found a movie that (that you liked) had a bad plot , do you tell them to go read a book? Most likely not http://n4g.com/news/1638942/destiny-the-dark-below-review-polygon http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2014/12/the-dark-below-dlc-highlights-the-worst-parts-of-destiny/?comments=1 http://www.destructoid.com/review-destiny-the-dark-below-284869.phtml

Musashi Orboro3により編集済み: 12/15/2014 5:09:04 PMWhen most gamers refer to a game being a "failure," they mean that it is of poor quality, and/or does not function very well. Very few gamers link a game's quality to its financial success. The only time this really comes into play is when a game is well received by gamers, and they expect that the game's financial success will lead to more high quality games.

Story and gameplay are the most important parts for me. I can deal with one being poor if the other is truly exceptional. There is no story here, and very little depth to the gameplay. It boils down to, go over there and survive wave after wave of enemies, then go into the next area and do the same thing, over and over. There are a lot of shooters out there that you can play with friends, with better character and gear progression systems. If you're happy with this one, that's great. For me, there is nothing about this game that stands out as exceptional, or even above average. That's why I call it mediocre.
