Destiny was made to fool Consumers by using a cheap ass "Bait & Switch" Business move.
Why can't everyone see that? Why throw fuel to a fire that is burning YOU? Do you WANT to pay an additional $30 for something you ALREADY paid for?
Maybe it's not Bungie, nor Activision.
It's spineless Consumers. Too stupid to realize what's really happening.
"Nobody complained about the lack in Halo"
If you've ever really thought about it, in CE you know literally know nothing. What? Covenant? What's that? Oh, aliens. Wtf? What's this giant ring thing? Oh, a doomsday device.
Halo's universe was BUILT on outside sources like books and little tidbits here and there, so the story problem you talk about a lot is based on Bungie's later Halo universe, instead of its beginnings, like the universe of Destiny, which is actually a lot more developed than CE. People saying they have no idea what's going on have clearly not been listening to Dinklebot.
I gave up on this game once the DLC came out. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the game but now it seems like it's a lot more grinding just to get to level 32. I played this game a lot that I know ever line by heart. I just had to call it quits. The DLC was good I just can't do the grinding anymore. Only time I'll get back on this game is to finish maxing out the subclass for the hunter to get the platinum trophy.
hey longface...i thought you liked destiny? why all the hate, recently?
in the interest of full disclosure, i'm going to say i really like the game, and i do defend it when i feel something completely unwarranted, or idiotic has been said. it does have flaws, but what game doesn't?
that said, some of these arguments are kinda stupid.
destiny ISN'T an MMO....this much has been said by the developers themselves, so that SHOULD put that to bed...it's not really strictly a shared-world shooter either...it's a hybrid of things.....a shared-world online shooter with elements borrowed from regular MMORPG's...
there's a LOT of lore to the halo franchise...too bad 343's taking a hatchet to it, but that's a discussion for another thread....destiny isn't halo, but i can understand why the comparison is made....
the game is very much about the story, and it exists, and yes, it's either beyond some people's ability to process, or they just can't be bothered with stupid things like reading, paying attention to what they're playing, or playing with the sound on....if less people zoned out for the talky bits that come between the shooty bits, there would be far fewer claims of there being no story...however, i do believe a part of the experience is creating your own story.....your actions, with your friends...i wish bungie had done more to make this element truly special...to make it a thing people care about doing.....
people who constantly bitch and complain about every little thing they can find, ARE entitled little shits....they could be given the most delicious, expertly crafted meal available, and STILL find an excuse to complain about it. for some people, nothing is ever good enough...for some people, they're just not happy unless they're bitching about something...such is life.
the people saying the rest of the game will be released as DLC are idiots.....sorry to be mean, but they're idiots...
and it's not that the game isn't complete yet...the STORY isn't complete yet....they're trying to tell an epic story, over the course of 4 games.....what we have so far, is the prologue/opening chapter of this story....the introduction that sets the stage for what is to come..
i, for one, look forward to it...
Longface I have a question, while its fun reading your comments to/about desticals, if you don't like the game why keep slating it? This is just curiosity not a stab at you, also where is part 3 of bungie McDonald's
You forgot the credibility arguments:
If someone hasn't played the game in a while, the response is, "You just come here to bash on the game, even though you aren't playing it anymore. You don't have any credibility."
If someone has played it recently, the response is, "Even though you think the game sucks, you're still playing it. You don't have any credibility."
It's true what a lot of people have said: some take any critique of Destiny as a personal attack.
