I get what your saying. The issue is the wording. In a sense, both you & your opponents are correct. If you cause damage with a nova bomb & it kills something, it caused damage but the target is dead. So even though energy drain activated, it can't work if everything is dead. If you were to nova bomb & kill a target, then another target walks into (or keeps receiving damage) the nova bomb should be able to use the energy drain perk. It would require vortex to be on to work though. So if you use the lance perk, then energy drain won't activate. If they were to link them, I would feel the warlock would be op. Toss a grenade & get continuous health would give you a moment of invincibility. In the world of PvP, that would cause an up roar. I agree with the way it's worded it should work if used in the way I explained & would be great, but to overpowering for PvP which needs to have a balanced playing field.

No because it simply states that your melee is energy drain, and the bomb gives the effect. Otherwise it would say nova bomb triggers health regen. If it said killing enemies while energy drain was active it would be different but it doesn't.

Yes I understand it says Melee attack. I agree with you that it is one. I said the wording is incorrect. By saying it activates the effect of energy drain, then it is using its effect. The only effect I've seen work is soul rip & the grenade cool down. Again I AGREE that energy drain is activated as a Melee. The wording is wrong or the design is wrong. Why have embrace the void say activate energy drains effect if it can't? Or why is it that soul rip works with grenades but not life steal? To your other point about nova bomb saying it regains health. It's not about nova bomb saying it regains health, it's about embrace the void stating nova bomb & grenades gain the effect of energy drain. So they would gain grenade cool down, life steal, soul rip, or surge. I have personally seen a difference using soul rip. So the bigger question is why embrace states nova bomb & grenades gain the effect of energy drain.

There shouldn't be any confusion. It does not say it gains the effect of energy drain, it says it activates the energy drain effect. It does not say that they come energy drain or count as energy drain hits, only that they activate its effect. If it said nova bomb now acts as an energy drain effect it would be different. Could be worded better sure but there is no error in how it is described either only poor interpretation.

There is confusion b/c not everyone is not on the same page. Look at it this way. You're told if you punch someone that a net will drop a net on the target. So you punch & the net drops on the target. Now you're told if you throw a rock at the target it triggers the same effect. So you throw a rock but the net falls next to the target. The effect triggered but didn't do what you thought it would. That is what is happening. If you don't think these abilities should work together, go to ign & look up their PvP build for the warlock. They are saying the soul rip ability works with embrace. I to have seen the soul rip ability work with my grenades. So the question is why does it work for some abilities but not all?
