2 通の返信Antisocialにより編集済み: 10/21/2014 2:13:09 PMi'll re-write the descriptions EMBRACE THE VOID - Damaging enemies with the Nova Bomb or any grenade triggers the Energy Drain effect ENERGY DRAIN - A powerful melee attack wich drains energy from enemies and uses it to reduce cooldown of your granade Meaning - EMBRACE THE VOID - Damaging enemies with the Nova Bomb or any grenade reduce cooldown of your granade still malfunction cause it is not working

I noticed this but figured it was just to prevent Warlocks from being really OP. After reading these comments I agree that it's a case of the wording being too similar. The Energy drain effect and ability share a name. They should differentiate a little more to avoid confusion. I just use Bloom instead.

Im pretty sure this functions as intended. Hitting eneimies gives you the energy drain effect, but not the perk you have selected, otherwise warlocks would truly be too powerful. And the other thing you mentioned a bit lower is a problem with all the over time effects in this game. DoT effects will not stack or refresh when applied

Antisocialにより編集済み: 10/19/2014 3:41:43 AMThis is how i see this Energy Drain is an ability and it's not treat as normal melee attack since u can get it at lvl 12 or something like thatand its description says that is a powerful melee attack and melee attack u can use since lvl1 oviously thats why Energy Drain is an ability it is not treat like normal melee then . effect of Energy Drain is that reduce the cooldown of your granade and normal melee doesn't have any effect. Any perk from energy drain works correctly itself. EMBRACE THE VOID should add effect of the Energy Drain to reduce cooldown of granade and i don't think that killing enemy is the problem since to kill enemy u still need to do the damage as description of EMBRACE THE VOID says. problem can be that r actually 2 effects on energy drain and this should be fixed as 2 usable effects(first original from energy drain and 2nd from perk) added to NB and granades or at least an original effect of energy drain to reduce cooldown of our granades...other malfunction is the hunger perk isn't working correctly or better to say isn't working at all. surge always have a duration of 14 seconds for me and life steal or soul rip doesn't increase amount of health or supercharge gained being in combat and killing last enemy so then quiting from combat to regen mode or it seems to be take only to original energy drain effect wothout a perk still there is no difference Sunsinger Fusion grenade - an explosive grenade that causes bonus damage when attached to its target... well only the blast radius and dmg lower since in cosmodrone dreg get 560 dmg when grenade is not attached and 254 dmg when grenade is attached to an enemy Radiance perks works correctly, EDIT: i think radiance isn't haste cooldown of scorch but only granades but i will check it out tomorrow Scorch - flame shield works correctly, solar wind works "correctly" since it realy knocks back enemy even when its distance is very limited and the animation that enemy is juggled is added, brimstone - dont have yet but seems to be working correctly with latest patch. radiant will works viking funeral works and not... it doesn't working while RADIANCE is active sunburst - dont have it yet so if some1 have info about that pls let me know touch of flame works and works with viking funeral aswell but when RADIANCE is active viking funeral wont do greater damage(read viking funeral) while it still let our granade ignite enemies all other seems to be working correctly

Kind of Benにより編集済み: 10/18/2014 6:35:03 PMIt's actually much simpler than everyone below is making it. Let me try. Bungie -blam!-ed up the descriptions here. Basically, it's like this: There's "Energy Drain" (the melee attack) and "Energy Drain" (the effect). They are two different functions both called "Energy Drain" because of the relationship they have early on in the perk tree (Energy Drain the effect being activated by Energy Drain the melee). The description for Life Steal ought to read
"killing an enemy with your melee attack immediately restores a significant portion of your health".
Thus, Embrace the Void is not linked to Energy Drain (the melee) in any way except for adding the additional effect of Energy Drain (the effect). Basically, it allows you to take both melee perks. Make sense? I'll reread and edit for clarity if necessary.

2 通の返信Yeah...it basically comes down to whether one ability is supposed to override the other....or they should be working in concert with each other. The way the skill tree is set up, really does make it seem that is should be latter.

Agreed, i have noticed this the other day as well. Killed some enemies with nova bomb and didnt get life back st all. Kinda makes me not want to use that effect of energy drain if embrace the void doesnt activate that effect. It kind of makes embrace the void null and void, think of it like this, What is the point of Embrace the Void if the grenade is the only thing getting the cool down? You just have continuous grenades but are you getting life from those grenades no cause do to poor wording only kills with energy drain cause life steal to activate. But since we are only getting CD's to grenades we hardly ever see our melee cooled down, the wording for Embrace The Void should be stated like this...... "When killing an enemy with either a nova bomb or grenade, it is like killing an enemy with energy drain" you get the first effect and secondary effect, because now with that ability equipped you will get life gain with your melee, grenade and super but only when killing them not damaging them.

3 通の返信Mechanical Difference Between An Effecter and An Effect: Effecter: Energy Drain Effect: A powerful melee attack which drains energy from enemies and uses it to reduce the cooldown of your grenade. Effecter: Embrace The Void Effect: Damaging enemies with Nova Bomb or any grenade triggers the Energy Drain effect. Hence Embrace the Void is working as intended by triggering the effect and not the effecter. If it were defined as as "Damaging enemies with Nova Bomb or any grenade triggers Energy Drain." then it would reference triggering the effecter and thus all subsequent effects to include things like Life Steal. Make sense?

1 返信Read the descriptions literally. Grenades trigger the "energy drain" effect only. Life steal is a modifier for killing an enemy with your melee ability. Hope this helps :)

6 通の返信I get what your saying. The issue is the wording. In a sense, both you & your opponents are correct. If you cause damage with a nova bomb & it kills something, it caused damage but the target is dead. So even though energy drain activated, it can't work if everything is dead. If you were to nova bomb & kill a target, then another target walks into (or keeps receiving damage) the nova bomb should be able to use the energy drain perk. It would require vortex to be on to work though. So if you use the lance perk, then energy drain won't activate. If they were to link them, I would feel the warlock would be op. Toss a grenade & get continuous health would give you a moment of invincibility. In the world of PvP, that would cause an up roar. I agree with the way it's worded it should work if used in the way I explained & would be great, but to overpowering for PvP which needs to have a balanced playing field.

aemにより編集済み: 10/18/2014 8:10:30 AMThey need to address and consider changes In voidwalker in general. All the modifiers comes down to the use of energy drain. Everyone uses the third grenade and I feel there is no point to having enemies explode when using an ability...most of time all the enemies are already dead. On. Top of that, the novabomb tracking really isn't necessary as blast radius tends to do the trick. Changes in general is what I'd like to see

4 通の返信ariaandkiaにより編集済み: 10/17/2014 8:36:00 AMI somewhat disagree that it is a malfunction. As you stated, "Killing an enemy with Energy Drain" and "triggers the Energy Drain effect" In other words, you aren't killing the enemy with energy drain, you are just gaining the effect of energy drain. Now, if it said "triggers the Energy Drain effect and supplemental effects," then there would be a malfunction. Or if it said "Nova Bomb or any grenade counts as energy drain," then there would be a malfunction. (I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have, but...)
