Its about 50/50 for me.. I bought a few pieces of legendary from the vanguards, bought the exotic chest from xur, and got one of my exotic guns from a bounty, and the other from an engram from a quest.. Hmm.. Upon further reflection, I do farm the cave, but never really got anything world shattering from it.. But I don't care if other people do.. :)

I respect you for your decisions. There is no shame in exploring options, but as you understand the value of achievement, you know what is and isn't for you. Be weary of tarnishing your legend, the best rewards only find the Great.

I don't think it would tarnish my legend if I did get anything of note from the cave.. Or even if someone else did, I don't think it would tarnish mine either.. I'd just say "hey, good for you, you a high enough level to do the vault yet? If so, let's do this!"
