In what way is my post lacking knowledge or awareness in general. Or are you just throwing the biggest word you know out there hoping you won't get called out for it?
Trust me, if there were a more well known and smaller word for ignorance, I would have used it.
The most obvious issue with what you're saying is that somehow not having mm will stop the mode from being dumbed down, as you say. As if it weren't the same people playing. If that's going to happen then it will happen regardless of mm being there.

There's a fundamental difference in the behavior of people with the presence of raid MM, and the behavior of people without the presence of raid MM. This difference is the defining factor in how Bungie approaches later raid content, or how they will balance current raid content during patches.
People with raid MM expect to be spoon-fed. They don't expect to work and fight to complete raids. Simply put, they aren't raiders. They don't understand or refuse to accept what is necessary to complete raids. They'll come onto the forums and complain about not being able to experience the content because the majority of people that queue up in raid MM are incompetent. This will lead to nerfs.
There will be far less complaints without MM present. If playing with people you actual communicate with and have experience playing with you'll be more likely to tough it out, strategize, or just learn how to do the raid. Then Bungie won't have to consider dumbing down the experience for the rest of us.
You act like similar situations have never happened before. Sounds pretty ignorant to me.
1. If they needed to modify the raid to make it more accessible to people, don't you think they would add a lesser difficulty rather than 'dumb it down' for everyone? I'm certain that's what they'd do, if necessary.
2. Why do you think no mm will stop people from playing it? I get what you're saying about people working harder and therefore appreciating it more but no mm does not mean those same people won't play - motivated or not.
No mm is not the solution for what anyone or Bungie has stated the problem is. I say let the people go at it. They will either give up and stop playing mm or they will learn and grow - either way it's everyone's choice to use or not use the playlist.
