They don't have the money. Sony is in serious financial situation and they probably aren't even thinking about it

But they would need to take a loan from the company as a whole. Sce just spent billions on a new console (that they sold at a loss), and have all of their money tied in with other big projects like Bloodbourne, let it die, and everything that sony worldwide studios is working on
