16 GB RAM on a laptop? I hope you have a powerful graphic's card on the side, otherwise you won't be able to utilize much out of it.

That depends if you want speed over storage. When it comes to SSDs, it's generally around $1 per GB of storage, more or less, depending which brand you pick. I only recently swapped out a dying 600GB HDD for a 120GB SSD, which was worth it, since I don't need the space on the laptop.
