Why would you buy a playstation because of a vocal minority you wouldn't even avoid by switching? I mean, you said yourself you don't care about exclusive content.

Btw I gave a PS4 and will be getting Destiny for it, the reasons I don't have an Xbox is for the same reasons you don't/didn't have a PS

The controller i can live with, spending an extra £80 for basically nothing, that i can't live with. All my friends are going to PS and theres no point being the only one playing xbox, especially when forza was such a let down.

The fact it is marketed towards gaming, the fact that some of the exclusives look eyewateringly good, the fact that microsoft don't get to shaft me out of any more money. I have no need for Kinect, i don't care about Twitch, i just want a games console that does other stuff... Not an entertainment device that sometimes plays games.

Any time it wants. Can it also be a general entertainment device ? Yes. Including playing games. Does that somehow mean that it can't play games ? No. People seem to be under the impression that because the One isn't exclusively a games console, it can't play games well.

The point I make is that it wasn't marketed as a games console whereas the ps4 was marketed as a games console that does additional things, the wii u was marketed as a family games console. The Xbox was marketed as almost everything else and then at the end of the announcement they threw on a little extra portion on the gaming side. It was more about communicating with your friends, watching films, synching with your tv and sky, TiVo...

Yes I do. Microsoft pissed on the majority of their fan base and expected everyone to just go with it. They started off with the need for constant online connection which -blam!-s off every military console gamer which there are hundreds of thousands of, then all the people that have shitty Internet connection, they would have been on the losing end of it. That's not really looking out for the interests of your fans is it? Yes you can sit there all you want and say they changed the policies, but it's the fact they had them in the first place. I was Microsoft through and through, their marketing put me off, the price is way too much for what it is and I don't want kinect, argue with it all you want but it's my opinion. The play station looks like it caters for gamers more... So guess what I'll be getting. Lets also not forget the massive hardware failures the Xbox has already encountered.

That's pretty much where I'm coming from. Don't like the direction MS are taking either, Some of their original plans (which they have since backtracked on) made me feel like puking. I think you put it in a nutshell though, I want a games console not a "home entertainment system"that sometimes plays games, ever heard the saying "Jack of all trades master of none".

I didn't think for a moment that you were trying to change my mind. I just think the Xbox has been marketed really badly. I don't want kinect, like, at all... I don't care if it even earns me money in the long run, i honestly couldn't give a damn about Kinect. I had high hopes for it when i saw project milo, they promised so much, i got the first kinect and it was honestly pointless. Xbox/PS is similar to the whole Camaro/Mustang debate where two companies are vying for the top spot in the market. Xboxes marketing on launch was basically like Chevrolet going "The new camaro, It's not just a car, it is a skateboard, a shopping basket, a wheelie bin and sometimes might be used as a car. You can also run old people and children over with it".

Well, you seemed to think that since it wasn't marketed towards gaming then it couldn't possibly be used for it. I couldn't really read the tone of your last comment but I'll assume it was meant to be snarky and disrespectful.
