I’m not particularly against Destiny being more recognizable and popular, but the drawback is that the larger and less niche a fanbase/playerbase is, the more toxic it is, typically. Because Destiny’s playerbase (for the most part) was actually really chill back in the day. From my experience, that is.

That lines up with my experience too. Was solo for a while and then I got brave and used the fireteam searching function of the companion app and ended up running nightfalls with someone lovely who brought me along to some crucible with their group after and I ended up running a lot of content with that group for many years. I’m being a bit nostalgic there as you can’t really put Pandora back in the box, but for sure the community has been great for much of my time with the game
