I'm sorry but you're wrong on this one cross has nothing to do with it. Don't you think he sees more what's going on than what you and I would. The grind was too much I've been playing the edge of Fate since it began and I'm just now reaching 480. For as long as I've played destiny it's never taking a couple of months to get to the highest level in this game ever. Cross doesn't always get it right and then I turn to defend him here but in this one I am

  • omfg I love Cross, but him, Datto and Salt were the main ones saying the game needed: 1) to be harder. 2) to have more grind. What are you even on? Goodness.

  • That's not what they're saying. As a destiny 1. Destiny one was so much more fun even though it had its flaws but they had a dev team of more than a thousand people to deal with the issues now it takes Bungie More than a week to fix the issues. Like the new dungeon for the new ax is way too easy to do and is very little to it. Where is whisper the worm and zero hour require skill to do. Also the two content creators that you're talking about even said when the .nw raid came out it was too hard. Same with population this game should have over 700,000 people playing per day like battlefield 6. Destiny 2 is no longer in the top 100.

  • So we're ignoring that video he put out a week into EoF that was literally "This grind is great because it separates the 'real' gamers from people who have lives, families or any other hobbies".... Dude's a clown that has to use his willingness to be miserable grinding the same mission for hundreds of hours to try to out-do everyone else, because he doesn't have the skills to rest on them alone.

  • At least Kackis admits he can't play the game like he used to, because he's grown up & is a parent now - and appears to want to be an involved one. Cross OTOH, has 2 soon 3 kids, & I haven't seen any decrease in his amount/duration of streaming, & he still pulls the long stretches of Day 1 Raid stuff. I think that's one of the biggest disconnects between the Streamers & the majority of the player base: We have all gotten older, & presumably have more responsibilities to juggle against our Gaming Time... thus the *majority* of the player base don't have 40 hrs a week even possible to invest into this game.

  • It’s important to highlight this. They should focus less on making the top %1 happy and focus on the bottom %99 Though given the player population has collapsed the top %1 is not like %10 of the player base bc the game was tuned for them…. I always like crafting. Ya catering to top is always a bad idea

  • I always thought there could be a balance with crafting: while you can make most combos once you have the patterns, there could always have been 2-3 perks that could *only* be obtained via grinding.

  • Back in the beginning of testing one we never had these problems with PVP and PVE. Bungie leadership gutted what was left of Bungie back in the layoff last year and shift the remaining staff over to Marathon. The main story of destiny 1 got changed one month before release and even then it was a disaster. Even Forbes magazine has said that testing the last two months has been a disaster. So you're blame is squarely on the wrong people it's not the creators that cause this problem or somebody whining. Nobody like the beginning of edge of Fate when it was first launched. You can't sit here and tell me you enjoyed that hardcore grind just to get up to 300 after 2 months.

  • The plane squarely belongs on the Bungie devs in leadership. What was left of the bungie destiny 2 team went over to Marathon which was the PVP team which is why trials of Osiris sucks. Look through the form and you will see that people are playing the same squarely on Bungie and leadership directly. So you're blaming is misdirected. In the beginning of destiny we never had these problems even beginning of destiny 2 we still didn't have these problems and she knew the real backstory testing once Tori was changed at the very beginning before release. Even Forbes magazine is pointing to blame at Bungie leadership not content creators.

  • The reason why the decline in the game is happening is because bungie's poor management of it and worrying about marathon instead of destiny 2 if you haven't noticed the last couple years we've been shoved aside because marathon is more important than the destiny 2 community. I've been with this destiny game since beta and back then we had their full attention and the people who created this game from the get-go are no longer with the studio except for one man who took the place of Pete Read the room.

  • That's [b]one[/b] reason. Catering only to the top few % of either skill or no-lifing is another. Allowing people to 'co-stream' Raid/Dungeon Races with blacked out screens and muted audio is yet another. This ain't a single-reason f***-up; there's a whole collection of bad decisions made, only some of which are the incubation projects.

It’s a combination of asinine business decisions and poor decisions inside Destiny 2. Let’s face it though, most of us on here would have never made those same choices, so why did they happen? It comes down to literally one thing. [u][b]Hubris[/b][/u]. Think of all the -blam!- ups Bungie has done. It can all be whittled down to hubris. Pride and hubris are synonymous. Pride always comes before a fall. And this is the Fall. 😔.
