Skill is not a substitute for power. The fact of the matter is that the two are entirely different. Sure, skill influences the effectiveness of power, but power does not influence skill. (With the exception of forcing you to either become better or worse at the game, yada yada) What I am saying is that Power, unlike Skill is not a virtue of the player and should not be rewarded. You shouldn’t be rewarded by having something that is generally more powerful. Rather, having that powerful thing should be the reward. Conversely, you should be rewarded for skill. Not have skill being the reward What does this have to do with anything over talked about previously? Well, GL is a rather common exotic weapon. It’s still an exotic, but it’s still common. I’m not saying that all random drop weapons should be weaker than their raid and dungeon counterparts, but having something that is so clearly better than the average to the point where it overshadows other weapons is not good for the health of the game. It pushes people skilled or not to use the singular weapon, killing diversity, and causing the weapon to become an annoying hurdle. Look back at the 120 Shotty meta. Lasted a long while and everyone used them. It was one of the least favored metas ever due to just how prevalent it was.
