Man Imma get DESTROYED for this one but it needs to be said...
Look I LOVE Graviton Lance, it was literally the first exotic I ever used in D2, but it's become a problem. One Guardian sitting at mid-range with a decent view on enemy spawns can kill thousands of enemies with zero effort & zero skill. I used the Lance to farm "In to the Deep" & was able to kill 5000+ enemies in just over 40mins. Guys, that is 2.1 enemies per SECOND !!! It's oppressive & using any other primary is basically a self-nerf. Trying to get the combat loop of any build rolling while in a fireteam with a Lancer is all but impossible. Last thing I wanted to do today was be on here calling for a Lance nerf but... well here we are. They need, with all haste, to remove the propagation effect. That is to say, the ability for kills with the Lance's submunitions to spawn further submunitions.
I used the Lance to farm "In to the Deep" .
Don't farm kills in the easiest kill zone in the game next to the thrall way in the Shattered Throne and cry for a nerf because you got a bunch of kills in one of the only spots left in the game where it literally feeds you waves of one shot enemies like that.

4 通の返信I've been thinking the same thing for a long time now. Graviton Lance is just oppressively dominant in the meta, and makes it close to impossible for anyone else to get their build going, because the Lance is just wiping everything out, denying everyone else things like healing, ability cooldowns, and damage buffs that they need for their builds to work. I also completely agree with the proposed method of nerfing it. You shouldn't be able to fire one shot into a group of enemies and then afk while the gun's perk wipes out everything even remotely close by for you.

1 返信I went in the strike playlist to test out a build and more likely than not you'll see someone with graviton and it’s pretty difficult to test your build with BADOING SPLASH SPLASH BADOING SPLASH SPLASH annihilating entire civilizations in one magazine I have used it too for void builds but it is for sure an outlier

10 通の返信Idea. Limit the chain capabilities of both GL and SunShot. I’m not saying Bungie needs to completely nuke each of the exotics, but after 1-2 chains per initial explosion, how much more is genuinely needed. It does not remove the forgiveness or add clear potential of the weapons, as they will still be able to clear rooms and spawns, but it will assist with the fact that GL and SS are both oppressive to teams when trying to catalyze a build. It’s due to the fact that a great many builds require kills to initiate, and completely disabling a players ability to play a build isn’t fun to anyone. The same argument could be made about speedrunning a basic strike with an Eager Edge sword. But, unlike this scenario, the Eager Edge player is not “hogging” (not a good term, but I’m kinda stuck with using it) the adds by witch other players would necessitate their own ability to play. This, paired with the fact that a great many times, Strikes have passage locks where you are unable to progress till a specific objective is complete will result in the other players having ample opportunity to play. Lastly, I want to point out that GL specifically has long lasting remnants that will assist in the continual chain of explosions. Unlike SS witch is a one and done deal, GL specifically limits a players ability to get kills when being used by a teammate, as you have to be in ample range and with ample opportunity to kill, and the zone by witch the GL had taken care of will stay locked down by GL for an extended period of time, possibly chaining to the next set of spawns, and as a result, repeating the cycle. Sunshot is limited by add production. Graviton Lance, less so.

It does sometimes feel like if you don't have it then the person with it is going to get more kills in easier matchmade content. There's been other weapons like that though. Its not absolutely unbeatable in PvP as long as the game doesn't get in the way. It would probably just be down to whether or not people get tired of seeing it getting so many kills. I do at least as well with choir of one and that gun is fusion/auto/shotgun/scout whereas graviton is simply a pulse/hand cannon. So there's other things out there that will stack a lot of kills even if it isn't as easily and then you have the build people that can usually put together stuff that will stack even more kills so it would probably take away more from lower skilled players tbh.

30 通の返信I love GL but I can replace it with several other exotic primaries and get the same results. All you’d accomplish is another weapon being used more and you’d feel the same way. GL works with the artifact for weakening bursts, offering devour and having unstoppable this episode. Nerfing weapons isn’t the way.

I find it can be obnoxious in certain events. If it is real bad during an event I will leave or let them do all the work. I see it more since the tonic BS dropped. It makes tonic material farming tolerable so players can move on to something else. I also think the gun is fine. I do not see how it is killing the game.
