I play all these activities and I hate playing the entire thing and only getting about 1,2 or 3 things from that activity. To make matters worse it’ll be something I never wanted with stats that are beyond terrible. Imagine playing it again a few more times…. Then imagine the time it takes to replay those activities…it leads to hours on end of wasted time and effort to only get little to nothing of anything from a raid, dungeon or grand master nightfall and then have a mail box filled with random world drops that you’ve already seen and scraped hundreds of times
.
I think raid are completely fine as they are. I'd even say they are the most rewarding activity in the game. Let's use Salvations Edge as an example. First off all armor doesn't really matter. You get it once if you like the looks that it. The roles are always bad and it's not artifice anyways.
This leaves us with 6 weapons or 30 red borders to get. You get three guaranteed per week. The chance for a drop to be a weapon is about 60% and there's about a 20% chance to be a red border. You get 7 items per run so on average you get another 0,6 red borders per run. This results in about 5 red borders in the 3 weekly runs. So after about 6 weeks or 18 runs you should have all of the weapons craftable. I can definitely back this as all my team members had all red borders after 5-7 weeks.
I think to make up for players hardwork, time and effort (because you cannot get back time you’ve wasted) I think bungie should at least increase the loot drop rate for chest to at least 2 or 3 drops per chest so that even if you don’t get what you want it doesn’t feel as bad as only getting one thing, you’re chances of the thing you want is increased and you get a chance to decent rolls from other weapons you may want to try from raids and dungeons.
As I already stated I don't think raids should be changed. Strikes are in weird spot. GM heavily depent on which strike is active, what weapon is available and if double loot is active. Most GMs last less than 15mins and for them I think one drop is enough. But stuff like Corrupted or Battleground last 20 to 25mins and those definitely aren't worth it for me if there is no double loot. As I said it always depends on the strike but with double loot active so often I think its also fine as it currently is.
Dungeons are definitely the least rewarding of the 3 activities. You have a relatively big lootpool and no craftables. I think it would be enough to add double loot weeks like we have for nightfalls though.
I honestly believe with the increased loot drop rate, it would motivate all types of players to farm some of these more difficult activities and have alot less burnout from players grinding it all day. The high risk would finally feel worth the reward, rather than barely getting anything and feeling like you’re wasting your time playing one raid or dungeon dozens of times to never get anything you actually want.
I doubt it would change anything. Most players that don't do raids don't base their decision on loot but they don't want to play with randoms or don't want to engage with harder content.
I know some of you can relate to this( the ones who’ve played something 20+ times and got nothing in return) im excited to see your responses. Please be fair and friendly
After 20 Raid runs you should have nearly everything craftable. And 20 GMs are only 1,5 evenings. I don't think a godroll should drop that quick every time.

I partially agree with you when it comes to raids. I agree with the dungeon take also. Im taking into consideration the other activities in the game that you also have to grind for, things like seasonal events that focus heavily on fomo and the countless other things you may want to grind for. I think you and your group of friends are really great at the game to beat gm in a 15 minute average for most grandmasters. But wouldn’t it be nice to get at least 2 weapon drops instead of 1 and a bunch of useless world drops. Then on double day you maybe you get 4 drops but double day would be less frequent. Then you could heavily focus farming weapons for all perks instead of maybe just two. Most player take farm the two main perks and call it a day while some others like myself farm for the weapon attachments along with the perfect perks. With the raids. 6-7 weeks for one raid to possibly get all red boarders (if it has red boarders) and not get multiple duplicates like whats going on with the new exotic class items right now. I think what you’re saying makes sense but only in some of the most perfect scenarios. 6-7 then take into account the amount of raids and other time consuming activities you have in the game with new content constantly being added into the game also, challenges, titles, new weapons, armor, etc. I know my post was about grand master nightfall, dungeons and raids but part of the reason I want higher loot drop is because of all the other time consuming activities that also require farming to obtain certain rolls including weapon attachments being perfect with the weapon perks. There have been weeks when all I get is armor from raids or dungeons. Its even more frustrating when I have multiple sets of that armor and I’m looking for a specific weapon drop especially in dungeons. I know everyone doesn’t try to farm every new event etc but I know at least I try to farm everything and test out all the weapons and try new weapon perks for my builds because I love to build craft.
I'm taking into consideration the other activities in the game that you also have to grind for, things like seasonal events that focus heavily on fomo and the countless other things you may want to grind for.
Sure if you really want to grind everything it's a lot. I'm only getting all red borders and those weapons that I'd really use. And when it comes to events I get my guaranteed Memento and then just leave it be. The recent once have just been really bad. My last one probably was Wendigo right before Lightfall when it was double loot on Warden of Nothing. Let's say you take it a bit slower and a run is 20mins. You would still have 6 drops per hours which I think is pretty good. Obviously if you want -blam!- roll it might take a lot of time. But grinding for 5/5 rolls is just something for your own inner monk. No one really needs 5/5 rolls in PvE. I've done all recent contest raids and not even there you need more than the 2 main perks and maybe the mag.
With the raids. 6-7 weeks for one raid to possibly get all red boarders (if it has red boarders) and not get multiple duplicates like whats going on with the new exotic class items right now.
Gotta agree the classitem situation is bs. I'm on console and can't use a macro so I'm currently just ignoring the classitem completely. But luckily we've gotten duplicate protection on red borders a long time ago. For me stuff like raids where I need multiple players always come first. And if I got some more time after I've done those I grind solo stuff like titles. They just aren't worth the time. Pretty much the only weapon I could come up with that I don't have but would really like to have is the GotD rocket. But just getting the 2 main perks is less than a 1% chance on the first boss which also is very hard to even one phase. Some goes for the rocket sidearm from WR. It's a lot faster to grind but still takes ages. I was happy when I heard that were getting a craftable energy rocket sidearm this episode. Maybe they could ad some kind of loot focusing to dungeons because I also kinda don't want them to have red borders.

You know whats funny? I have been trying to get those perks on that ghost of the deep rocket for a long time and not getting it after playing ghost of the deep probably 40 times or more is what inspired me to make my post. I always felt that way but ghost of the deep is what pushed me to make the post. You didnt like the new linear fusion that came out? The strand one? They also have a very interesting high impact frame rocket launcher called the breytech osprey. It can get envious assassin and lasting impression together. I finally got one for my titan that ill use with hazardous propulsion. The new auto rifle is ok too. You can get volt shot with one for all and a few other interesting perks. Volt shot makes one for all easier to activate.
You didnt like the new linear fusion that came out? The strand one?
I was lucky and got Rewind Round with Bait and Switch on the first run.
They also have a very interesting high impact frame rocket launcher called the breytech osprey. It can get envious assassin and lasting impression together.
I know but the rocket is just very bad. Apex Predator has Reconstruction with Bait Nd Switch or Explosive Light. The Braytech one doesn't really get close to that.
The new auto rifle is ok too. You can get volt shot with one for all and a few other interesting perks. More or less the only legendary primary that fells really got atm is Zaoulis Bane. If I don't use that I just go double special with a rocket sidearm.
