Omg my friend is an idiot he blames me for saying read a clock then calls me an idiot because he thinks they say it as a figure of speech and not literally.

He says they don't mean to read them as actual clocks; just call out which ones are missing. I say, "Two, six, eight," and he comes back, "Don't do it like that."

While I get your so not so tactfully put point my main issue is speaking clearly ie “it’s witness , fleet and drink”.. As for the text chat, missing a couple of fingers so that’s not really an option as far as speed is concerned. True I haven’t tried it yet and there’s a difference between admitting defeat and pointing out as I’m doing here how not fun an activity like this is for someone like me. Now before you go belittling anyone else in comments in an off handed way as you’ve done here, try some empathy.

As long as the info reaches the other person in a timely manner it isn't an issue.
