I wouldn’t compare to raids because those are one of the only activities the solo/silent group won’t do. You can do almost everything else without talking to people.
Although I have run a couple successful raids where I said a max of 10 words or less because the lfg people were insufferable and I had no interest in conversing with them. But they were competent and I wanted the completion 😂

I personally disagree, I think a raid and exotic mission smooshed together is the best way to compare this to. At least from a coordination and mechanics standpoint. If/once they make the class items obtainable solo, and they settle down, I think this being an efficient way to farm it as almost the babiest of raids is pretty cool. As for that second part, amen. I've been in enough raids where it's just let's get through this and dip the moment the chest opens without bothering with the standard ggs and all that because they were just insufferable.

Kind of, but people used to be able to solo Riven (until Bungie patched it) in D2, and people have soloed D1 raids, heck, it is theoretically possible to solo Kings Fall, yet no one has done it yet. And yes, the token revive system and limited revives is because people could solo raids in D1.

For sure. But we know the people who solo raids are fewer than those who solo dungeons. That’s also why I mentioned “silent,” because a lot of people voicing concerns will run dungeons and GMs where no communication is needed so those numbers might be a better comparison.

True, but I feel like once the next weekly reset happens that's when the numbers will stop raising. when the shiny new mission losses its luster, like for raids and dungeons. And that's when we can see if it was a success or not.

Yeah. It’ll be interesting. I wonder what the Bungie metrics look like for target player engagement too. Like, were they shooting for raid/dungeon or zero hour/whisper etc. we will probably never know that but I think it would be cool to know.
