Depends on the type of grenade and HOW each enemy actually died. Was it a void explosion? Scorch? Stasis shatter?

Typically, it's a result of the arc fragment equipped that procs Jolt on grenade kills. The Jolt effect does not count as grenade damage, so it basically steals your grenade kills. Unequipping the fragment is the easiest way to work around the issue.
