I love raiding. I love group activity. I love the multiplayer aspect of this game.
However, I also love the solo play experience too. I've found some of the most fun times I've had were when I was playing solo. There's just something about the lack of others to weigh you down or get in your way that just feels like a breath of fresh air. Getting to this game play on your own schedule and at your own pace feels almost therapeutic at times. Unfortunately the game isn't really designed around that.
Yeah there are lost sectors, patrols, and dungeons, but patrols are boring solo after a very short while. Lost sectors have gotten an extremely steep difficulty spike and aren't really fun anymore. Dungeons can have some good moments, but the bosses were obviously meant for a group of 3 to do about 2 or 3 damage phases, so you have to be doing over 3 times the damage of the average player to make them bearable, unless you like doing 5+ damage phases. Anything above 3 damage phases is just absurd and stupid to me. It's literally the only reason I don't solo dungeons, because 15+ minute, 3+ damage phase fights are just stupid and absolutely NOT fun in any way to me.

Lost sectors only had an increased recommended light level.
The difficulty remained the same as previous seasons
Whether they realize it or not, Bungie has substituted accomplishments for "fun".
So, if accomplishments are not your thing, then you may not have a place in the current Desinty format.
Destiny is currently set up for players to accomplish, accomplish, etc.
I do not know if there is anything wrong with that, but having "fun" is not on any of their "accomplished lists".
