Strict or moderate SBMM makes. the top few % sook.
Too loose or minimal SBMM makes casual and new players have a bad experience so they leave which is what we are seeing as SBMM is very loose at the moment.
Essentially the top few % ruin it for both themselves and everyone else as when the casuals and new players leave only the top %ers are left so it eventually effectively forces SBMM regardless of the weighting.

What ever happened to being satisfied with a game that works correctly and being able to do the best you can? Its never going to turn out well if the point of PvP is for some people to not be allowed to do as well as they can. All the fakeness involved in making that happen just leads to bad overall results.

Agreed but sadly many sook if their kd or elo drops to where it actually should be within their skill bracket, they like stomping lesser skilled players as it inflates their ego. One of the reasons this game will never ever truly have a competetive mode as there is no real competitive separation from casuals the entirety of pvp sits somewhere in between and cant be any better while its stuck there. I often see the top players saying control is casual yet they expect it to cater to the top players as they have 'earned it' All it does is make pvp a chore for the majority and its a sure path to a dying game mode

I agree that its going to be really hard for any kind of matchmaking to satisfy every kind of player that wants to play a given mode. But a whole lot of other stuff has been changed or added or removed as well and its fair to wonder whether its all worth it. The game has become drastically different over the last two seasons and the player population is roughly the same and could possibly go lower.
