You know, good writing and story development are quite difficult. I certainly do not expect Oscar winning performances, except in Mass Effect. They should have given Shepard a best actor award.
However, the constant complaining about the story is getting old. Frankly, all the complaints are getting super old.
Just play and have fun or leave. Really.
You are here by choice.

So let me get this straight: You want people to stop giving opinions and criticism of something just because you don't like what they say? You just want people to, "be quiet and play or just leave."
Then you should take your own advice and stop reading their opinions.
I understand the complains - Bungie delivers the patterns for them since years. The story had so much potential but they did not take advantage of it. Instead of, Bungie decided to keep it shallow and repetitive. This was their "choice", strictly economic. I play for what it was, not for what it is. If I would not had that mindset I already would have left.

I binge on it then stop playing for years. I actually prefer games like Mass Effect and Bioshock. I was so disappointed in the new Mass Effect. You could tell a totally different team worked on it. D2 has its ups and downs. Some seasons are better than others, like life.

Opinions are like sphincters. Everyone has one and thinks theirs does not stink. Just play the game or don’t. One guardian actually posted a lengthy reason why the story needed help. It was quite good and reasonable unlike “it’s lame” or “it’s boring” or whatever. People have no idea what it takes to make these games. It’s a lot of moving parts.

GRAVELにより編集済み: 10/12/2022 8:44:51 PMI couldn't agree less. What are we to expect? The three seasons since WQ have been terrible, repetitive drivel. A narrative which is... as uninteresting as could be. I happily watched my guardian watch... If I had the ability to elect my course of action-. I would have voluntarily ignored it as well. One other point, storytelling this insignificant isn't hard. It's pretty damn easy telling a story this poorly. Bungie be sitting around the campfire wondering why all the hired hands turned in early for shut-eye.

There's a lot of things that need to be done, but here's a couple things right off the top of my head. These are all opinions of mine. I don't get paid to write this game, if I did I wouldn't be coming onto these forums for advice from the internet. 1. Stop punishing characters for being morally grey. Every one's a killer in this universe but Mithrax is the only one who gets punished for it because with out it there is no story. 2. Don't abandon ideas after they've been introduced. Clovis brey was revealed to be banshee-44 the whole time, but bungie has done nothing with that. Neither of his grand kids have come to visit? Or follow up on this information? 3. Bungie needs to stop arbitrarily picking what characters are evil now or what characters are going whine in my ear. They do this every season since beyond light. Bungie's formula for telling a story is drawing names out of a hat and deciding what's what. 4. Gotta cut out the unfunny dialogue. It makes me cringe when Amanda Holliday is making static noises when ciatl is talking. When characters are talking about how they feel, that's good. When characters are cracking jokes that are unfunny, I go into my settings and I turn off the dialogue. 5. Lean in on cosmic horror. The witch queen story was boring and contrived. It is an improvement, no doubt, but going from a 1/5 to a 2/5 doesn't mean it's good. But the final cutscene with the witness honestly made up for it. Sci-fi games are at their best when they're doing weird and conceptual things. And a oily smoke head dude hovering across the floor speaking cryptically tends to catch my attention. 6. The status quo of the universe needs to change with each major content drop. That way It feels like bungie is building up to something. Witch queen ended with hive showing up with ghosts and guardian abilities. Yes they show up sometimes in strikes, but thats it. They don't show up in dungeons, raids, or even the open world (savathuns domain excluded). It would be cool if they appeared on the moon, earth, nessus, etc. If you've made it this far I want to thank you. I'm not looking to dominate you lol, I genuinely want to have a conversation about this. Too many people write off critiques of the game as being negative. I really love this game and I can see the protentional. This game does have some hits. The duality dungeon story is fantastic, there's raw emotion in it, and you can feel the heartbreaking sorrow in Calus's voice when you reach the final boss. The last wish dialogue is some of the greatest dialogue i've heard in my life. "Paradise is a prison when you cannot leave". Need I even say how good that line is. And the deep stone crypt raid is easily the best raid in entire franchise when looked at from a narrative lens. There's actual stakes. If you fail Europa -blam!- explodes. I can see the direction this game's story is going and many other people are, too. I'm worried that bungie is getting lazy. I don't want this game to forever be known as the dumb sci-fi shooter with no story and wasted potential. It's bungie for christs sake, and the game directors need to start taking some risks and change up the god damed formula.
