So that was it? This is how the season story ends?
So the final story beat is finding yet another relic and then confronting Eramis, who escapes even though the Guardian is standing RIGHT THERE and could stop her. And that's it. Even the Drifter says in his video message at the end that he can't believe nothing else happened. Talk about an on-the-nose comment right in the middle of the game.
This story was embarrassingly lame. Basically the same mission for eight weeks, then a perfunctory ending.
Last season's story beats about not letting your regrets and guilt from the past haunt you forever seems like Shakespeare compared to this season's story, which, I might add, is also about overcoming guilt about past behavior.
Anyways, I don't know what I was expecting. This whole season was a farcical misfire. Why should the end of the story be any different?

13 通の返信Avelitheにより編集済み: 10/12/2022 11:05:23 AMYou’re preachin’ to the choir! I am absolutely LIVID with this season, for these reasons: Eramis returning at all. I mentioned this somewhere else, too. I am offended that she came back, because Bungie saw fit to FORCE Guardians to canonically “forget” about Eramis up on that building, rather than give us the option to Sparta-kick her popsickle body off it. My intelligence feels insulted by this. Eramis should not have come back. I have argued this relentlessly, because there is just no way I would have personally left her up there. It’s too convenient. And, well, here we are. 🙄 Mithrax and Eido’s daddy/daughter drama is about as boring and uninteresting as Ana and Elsie Bray’s. I just do not care. Which sucks, because I want to. I don’t feel close enough to Eido to really give a damn about their situation. Mithrax “was a bad guy once, oh noooo.” I already knew that, and I just don’t care. For the love of the Light, stop reminding me he used to be a bad guy every week, ffs. They’re really rubbing it in when I knew from that Titan mission that he was a bad dude. Ugh. Eido running off. Idiot girl. Enough said. 🤦♀️ Eramis and Mithrax cutscene looked cool, but the sword fight was clunky. Eliksni are swift sword fighters, but Eramis and Mithrax moved a bit too ponderously which had me scratching my head. I’ve seen Captains swing their swords as fast as lightning. Letting Eramis just… go again sealed my hatred for this season. There was no reason for it, and it makes me believe that my Guardian is canonically an idiot with no brain cells to speak of. I’m not thrilled. The gameplay itself was… alright. It didn’t feel like I was fighting space pirates though. Idk, I guess my attitude about this season just put a damper on everything else, so I didn’t have as fun as I should, and I’m the kind of person who invests DEEPLY in the story. That’s my critique for the season.
Anyways, I don't know what I was expecting.
Better don't expect anything. You will be disappointed. Just look around... It's still a good game, but it reached his peak a long time ago.

4 通の返信I’d still take this lame season over anything that involves crow Can not stand his “I’m the victim even though I deliberately made a stupid choice that I knew would piss everyone off” crap

2 通の返信Bungie running on fumes the past 2 seasons. Everything is formulaic, predictable, and boring. No depth. Nothing of interest. Repetitive and frustrating. The seasonal model does not suit them.

1 返信No, I don't think so. Crow IS Destiny's worst character by far, and that puts him behind even this sleep AF season.

Overall I think the story idea was a good one actually, but the ending was just so unsatisfying it landed a bit flat. Not having any kind final boss fight or something like that to act as a capstone to the storyline feels like a missed opportunity.

6 通の返信Evilman520により編集済み: 10/13/2022 9:15:15 AMThis entire season was a letdown overall. The story was dry, cliché, and had no build-up at all. Last season was better because it had build-up and a solid story to tell. Seeing everybody confront and come to terms with their past was solid writing, and made those characters stronger by the end. And through it all, we actually had this sense of urgency. Watching the HELM fill with Egregore helped give a sense that things were really getting bad, like when the Tower filled with Blights and Taken energy back in Season of the Splicer. But this season had none of that. The story just turned into "Eido's temper tantrum." The irony is that, as much as Eido hated being treated like a child, she was ACTING like one. This whole "someone close to me had a dark past and now I can't trust them anymore because they didn't tell me" crap is laughable. Where have we seen this plot line before, I wonder... Atop of that the season had no buildup at all. Here we are, collecting these 8 ultra-dangerous relics, and.... nothing? At least with Haunted we saw the HELM was becoming more Corrupted by Egregore with all of the Nightmares we were binding to the Crown of Sorrow. As time passed in Splicer the Tower filled with more Taken energy. But literally nothing has happened with these 8 relics to ruly make us feel like "hey maybe it isn't a good idea to have all of these dangerous things sitting together."

Roachにより編集済み: 10/13/2022 6:34:25 AMThe "story" this season was laughably bad. And I mean I actually laughed at it last night, it was that bad. She tells her father she will get the relic, and she will do it without violence. *Two minutes later* She screams "Oh no, the door is sealed" and we have to go rescue her from the Hive. *Bursts out laughing* Plus her whole issue with Mithrax having done bad things in the past isn't that he did them, no little Eido is upset because he didn't tell her. So she goes in a huff for weeks and ignore her father. Because you see, it's all about Eido and despite the fact that she is just a scribe, and barely knows anything about anything in her world, she is just so wise and clever. She tells Drifter that not telling her information that he knows is "unkind". Sorry, wut ?? And once you get past the Mary Sue that is Eido, why on earth have the jars with the bits of Nezerac been left sat unguarded in the Helm ?? .. We are told that these things are so dangerous that if you open one the darkness contained in it will consume you. Yet they are left lined up like cookie jars with no one watching them. Honestly, the only way this story could get worse is if Crow unleashed the darkness when opening the jar containing Nezerac's boaby because he was looking for a midnight chocolate chip. The whole scenario of making out these jars are the most dangerous thing like ever, and then leaving them out in the open like cookie jars in a place containing just some uninterested redjacks, Crow and a Cabal is the dumbest thing I have seen since "The army of the dead are coming, they can raise the dead so where shall we hide ?? .. Yup, the crypts. Lets go hide with all the corpses" in Game of Thrones. Bungie need to bring some gritty story, and soon. We need characters that divide, that are flawed and yet likeable. Put them in difficult situations and give us hard choices instead of the tedious whines of a stroppy teenager and her needy emotional baggage.

Agreed, the story went nowhere. Eido got more annoying as it progressed. They should have spent more time telling us about the relic and what it does and why nezarec was important than a silly father/daughter storyline that was as predictable as it was cliche.

1 返信There has to be another part to this season, storyline cannot just end there. We at least have to find out what plan the Witness had for the relics or have Eido discover a use for them

Our Guardian is locked in a labour dispute with the Vanguard over wages and will no longer participate in the saving of humanity unless an increase occurs. For now all we will simply do are bounties and grind the seasonal activities in order to unlock red framed weapons. The rest of humanity can fend for themselves.

1 返信HolyRoller1313により編集済み: 10/12/2022 10:38:57 PMI enjoyed the Nezarec stuff, but that’s about it lol EDIT: The name should’ve been “Season of The Fortnite” given how cheesy and cliche it was, again apart from the cool Nezarec lore drops. Just how my feel hahaha

34 通の返信You know, good writing and story development are quite difficult. I certainly do not expect Oscar winning performances, except in Mass Effect. They should have given Shepard a best actor award. However, the constant complaining about the story is getting old. Frankly, all the complaints are getting super old. Just play and have fun or leave. Really. You are here by choice.

TheShadowにより編集済み: 10/12/2022 12:58:55 PMThis isn't the original Bungie so expect more of the same with these seasons. I stopped buying them over a year ago because they are just fillers that are thrown in the trash. Yet Bungie complained about not having the resources for years before Activision left🤷♂️
