オリジナルの投稿元: Daybreak feels largely irrelevant

I think the mentality behind Daybreak is that it's the dedicated PvP Super for Solocks. Well is so powerful in PvE that giving them another Super for PvE would be redundant (lol Deadfall). If Bungie continues the trend of moving away from "Guess I'll die" DPS phases that bosses have, Warlocks absolutely need a Solar Super designed for PvE. But if they keep making "Shoot giant immobile glowy bit" bosses, there's really no reason. Warlock is literally the "suffering from success" class. Everything about them is so consistently good that stuff that can't keep up is seen as "bad" when it really isn't, just not as good as the rest of it. For instance: People who complain about Stasis Lock not having a good Boss DPS solution. If Shadebinder had good boss DPS, you would literally never play any other subclass. Having weaknesses is essential to game balance. I'm not saying I'm opposed to the idea, just that future game design would dictate whether it's needed or not.

 • Who cares that well is powerful in pve? Daybreak needs to be a pve option again because there are times solar locks aren't in GMs or raids where a well is needed. Bungie should have never assumed the entire community plays top dawn in pvp whereas the class needed to be split like it is.

 • I'm not sure if this is the point you're trying to make, but from how I'm understanding your post: You're saying Daybreak needs to be a viable PvE option because you don't have a teammate running Well in GMs? While you are playing Solar Warlock? Like... This feels like self-defeating logic here. You're playing the class (and subclass) with Well but you don't want to be the one using Well. You want to use Dawnblade instead. I apologize if I'm misconstruing this, but if you're looking for a viable add clear subclass for Warlocks in PvE endgame: Shadebinder is absolutely busted.

 • He’s saying that just because well of radiance is good doesn’t mean that daybreak should be bad. We have multiple supers so that we can have options. Solarlocks right now are asked to choose between a mediocre add clear super and an insanely good support super.

 • Daybreak isn't bad though. It's good at what it was intended to do: PvP air dominance. If you want an ad-clear Super, run a different Subclass. What does running Solar give you that's so irreplaceable that prohibits you from running something else? If you're not running Solar for Well, what's stopping you from running Shadebinder or Stormtrance for ad clear? Why does it have to be Solar? It's not like you're locked into playing Solar Warlock (unless running high-end PvE, which also encourages Well).

 • Alright, much better question: Why are you against a buff for pve? Or a cooldown reduction for pvp? Is it just for the sake of argument? Because right now that’s what it seems like, which is a waste of time.

 • Class uniqueness and variety: If everything plays the exact same way, what point is there having all these different elements? What's the point in build crafting? "If everyone's super, no one will be." Variety is the spice of life after all.

 • Variety is the spice of life… Which is why your arguing for daybreak to remain irrelevant so that well of radiance is the only solar warlock super worth using in any activity. I don’t know where you’ve been, but any uniqueness with classes and subclasses has mostly gone out the window. Most things now are just how much we can spam our abilities, with subclasses being nothing more than a color change.

 • Yes, I brought up daybreak being a pvp super, but like I said the cooldown is simply too long. I can’t remember the exact numbers but I’m fairly certain well of radiance has a base cooldown that’s a few minutes shorter. Well of radiance is also good in pvp, placing it on a capture zone or in the middle of a highly contested area can be a game changer. I remember using daybreak in trials, and there were many games where I never even got to use it, and when I was able to it was usually on the last round. Whereas with well of radiance I could easily have it around the middle of the game. Keep in mind this was with t7 intellect. So that’s why I call daybreak irrelevant.

 • In my personal opinion, using Trials to justify adding another Super is a pointless endeavor. Trials itself is a mess. The fact that most Supers are irrelevant in that mode are a reflection of its horrible design, not of the classes themselves. It's like arguing for Super balance in Mayhem. Of course there's going to be much more powerful Supers, Shadebinders are an absolute nightmare to face in that mode. That doesn't mean the class needs a nerf. The problems you're listing are less with the class and more with PvP's design. Bungie intentionally nerfed Super generation as part of their move towards Gunplay (and then promptly threw all of that out the window with the 3.0 reworks). What you're seeing is the consequence of this.

 • How are the problems I’m listing not about the class? If the cooldown is too long, that’s not a pvp issue it’s a daybreak issue. Maybe you could justify daybreak having such a long cooldown if it was as good as it was before 3.0. But like somebody pointed out, bungie changed certain supers without touching their cooldowns. And for the record I’m using trials as an example since it’s a shorter round based gamemode. However most of what I said about daybreak in trials can also be applied to most other gamemodes.

 • Yes. Bungie changed the Super and didn't tweak the cds to compensate. Again, this is because of their declaration to focus more on gunplay in PvP and then immediately backpedalling on that with 3.0 Daybreak is not a bad Super. It's still very powerful in PvP. Bungie's game design is what hurts it, not the Super itself. There's a distinct difference. Correlation vs causation and such. If Bungie reverted their changes to Super generation in PvP, Daybreak would soar (no pun intended) back to the top of PvP tier lists.

 • Spectral, Arc Staff, Fist of Havoc, Thundercrash, GG and more all suffer from the same thing in trials even in 5-4 matches

 • Yup thats why i hate the way the handled super regen They basically just prevented us frop using roaming supers in trials. The only supers you will see in trials are : Bubble Tether Radiance Waw....so fun...2 supers that requieres another super to counter it...how lucky we are.

 • Agreed. Bubble and Well are already strong in trials, especially with zones and this just adds to it.
