So SBMM wasn't created to keep it chill. Chill is what people get when its set to cater to top tier players allowing a stomp fest, and ruins it for far MORE people because it is so oppressive.
SBMM is an implementation to give people an opportunity to actually compete. It also, much more efficiently ensures all players have to work for their rewards instead of a few and their friends getting easy loot while the rest struggle.
It wasn't implemented to be less "sweaty". Its PvP. Asking for less sweaty players is a ridiculous notion for one simple reason that everyone needs to realize...
You control nobody but yourself. PvP is fundamentally competitive, and everyone wants to be at the top, and will play however they do to get there, and that's it. The only way you'll get less sweaty players is, you just won't. They will do what they do, and you will be powerless to stop it, I will be powerless to stop it, Bungie will be powerless to stop it.
It is not a valid expectation because it is an impossible scenario. I understand the frustrations, and PC is ALWAYS 100× worse than console because it is always where the sweatiest reside for PvP, but that's people. You don't want to sweat at all? Then the only option is not playing PvP, that's it.
I'm not willing to declare myself anything, but since SBMM was turned on, while the final scores still need help, because there are still a good number of blowouts, as expected, players have all been very close in K.D. ever match and I'm almost at legend. So I've been playing alot. Though I do get some outliers where one person has 4+ while the next closest on either team is 2 something, which is FAR better than my matches used to be with one team always being straight 4.0+ K.D. and a 19.0+, highly suspicious player who somehow never died once on the winning team, all the time.
Its also in its first iteration and its not even been out a week. Why do people think these systems are an instant fix? Everybody needs to understand its a process and will go through multiple iterations, maybe pver years before its ideal, or close to. CBMM was YEARS, its ridiculous to be upset because it isn't instantly fixed. We need to give it, at least an equatable time to what CBMM had to really definitively say if its better or worse.

Chill does not equal pub stomping. "Chilling" in Quickplay can go by many variations. But of course leave it to people like yourself to pinpoint one singular thing to consistently and constantly talk about. It's already been shown and proven multiple times that PvP is the after thought and has nothing in the future to be competitive - yet here we are introducing a competitive style matchmaking in a casual playlist. You don't want to sweat at all? Then the only option is not playing PvP, that's it. THIS is the most SELFISH sentence you could have ever written. This EXACT same sentence can be applied to you as well. People like you ruin fun for people like me and MANY MANY MANY others who want to buildcraft and test builds, chill with friends, play solo, and most importantly having fun. How DARE you have the selfish authority to tell people not to play a gamemode. People like you really ruin the game for everyone. I would request to open your eyes but as this community has already proven - full of entitled karens who will complain about anything.

lmfao no it's selfish that sweatlords cried forever until Bungie removed SBMM so that the sweats would shut up. As a result, Crucible participation steadily declined. It's almost as if when you cater to a supremely small percentage of a game, it has negative impacts or something.
lmfao except the removal of SBMM is ACTUALLY what caused damage. Both to participation and even the actual code of the game. Are you only capable of really really bad takes?
Incorrect. If you actually did some due diligence you would note that it's not because of SBMM that PvP declined, there has been a variety of reasons why. Low skilled players like yourself clearly are too tunnel visioned and only focus on one thing. THIS is why PvP is dying
-
Right. Removing SBMM didn't cause PvP to decline despite the fact that the decline started happening IMMEDIATELY after it was removed. You answered my question though. You really are only capable of the worst takes possible.

lmfao due, you literally have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. What I've said so far are objective facts. As soon as SBMM was removed in June of 2020, Crucible participation steadily began declining. this is a FACT. But if you want to be utterly delusional then sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
