EDIT (PLEASE READ): Now, a few things must be said to those who just stumbled upon this.
1) The point of the post was to highlight that Control/Quickplay should be a fun and chill experience. Getting rolled is not fun. Playing against sweats is not fun, agreed?
2) Some individuals have been grouping me with top players that can no longer stomp noobs and cry because they have to try. I AM BY NO MEANS A SWEAT OR TOP PLAYER (look at my stats) AND I DO NOT ENJOY STOMPING NOOBS OR getting stomped by sweats.
3) PLEASE READ THE FULL POST before commenting and if you do comment, I appreciate the feedback (even if you disagree), as long as it isn't some kid malding for no reason or still saying I like stomping noobs. Post a mature comment.
Quickplay is called :"quick"-"play" for a reason: it ignores (or at least it used to, hence: CBMM) skill. This was the most used and most common pvp gamemode. Now, me as a pretty decently skilled player, friends as mid-tier players, and my friend as a new player, are all getting somewhat rolled in most of our lobbies (EDIT: NOT while we are stacking, i mean individually, in all of our various skill lobbies). ALL (oh yes, I do mean ALL..) of my games feel like 6v6 comp games filled with crazy sweats (good players, do you disagree?). My 3 Control games were 151-68, 101-39, and 150-88, all losses, 1 game I dod fairly decent. Now every time I get on, instead of going into a control game to chill, I do something else that is ACTUALLY chill (EDIT: Not because i can "no longer stomp noobs", but instead feel like i cannot have a good time in control now).
This (I believe) is SIGNIFICANTLY hurting PvP as it not only discourage any players from playing pvp, but does quite the opposite. What I mean is that players will have less productive and enjoyable experiences which progressively damages both the look and feel of PvP as a whole.
If you want to make a separate game mode, MAKE A RANKED CONTROL PLAYLIST, BUNGIE. Please. Then you have 2 options.
Community thoughts are appreciated.
EDIT: When I said QuickPlay up above I was referring to Control, and how it in the equivalent of other games' quickplay. And the game/ destiny tracker even says it's still "Control: Quickplay" to those arguing that it is not called quickplay...(credit to Meester Brown and Aither, Primordial of Lght)
Also I'm not talking about me having trouble in my skill level as much as the community not liking SBMM. And to those saying I'm bad, I can't be that bad because I'm always playing against people who are significantly better than me and act like we're in comp or trials.
And to those wondering or about to comment calling me out for it, I changed the post from saying RUINED to WORSENED. I now realize that I went a little overboard saying that, just felt true in the heat of the moment

3 通の返信I would have to disagree, I'm not very good at PVP and I have avoided it like the plague for a long time. This is because with connection based I would get matches almost immediately, but I would get stomped almost immediately as well. I can tell you how many games I would run with 1-2 kills while the other team pulls 20-30 per person almost. That is not fun, getting steamrolled like that does not make for a good experience. Now with SBMM I have to wait 30ish seconds for a match depending on the time of day, and I kind of enjoy playing now. I haven't been spawn camped in the past like 4 days. I haven't had 4 mercy matches back to back and I actually break middle of the pack in kills. I think your issue is that your idea of a good PVP player and a bad PVP player is very different from bungie. They obviously feel you are better than you think, and have matched you with players that are about the same. All my friends that play PVP all the time are very unhappy for the same reason. They are fighting other sweats so they are confined to Meta, or to playing with their nose glued to the monitor to match. I will admit that I enjoy giving them the same advice they gave me for my complaints. "I have to play meta I can't try new weapons." Well learn from dying. But how can I make my PVP content for weapons? Find a clan, get into a private game. This is ruining my K/D I can't get into a clan. Well play more PVP! I cant stand getting killed by meta all the time. GET GUD SCRUB! But all of that aside, I am sorry you feel you don't belong in the tier you are in, perhaps after updates you might drop a tier or two and you can be back to your relaxing killing of new lights and bad PVP players. Also you and I both know a ranked control would never work, it might make it worse, they would be in unranked control all the time to "practice" and not screw up their rankings.

2 通の返信Actually I though the change will bring nothing to the table but this time I was wrong. I am happy to be able to use a weapon and have a fight. Before the connections were so bad i barely dmg someone it was the worse pvp exp ever My k/d went from 0.2 to over 2.0 dude that s a game changer i might even think to play pvp now not just for bounties where my main role was : bullets sponge literally On this one kudos Bungie

3 通の返信I don't know why you are having such a bad time in Control or why you feel that SBMM is 'significantly hurting PVP', or how can you say that 'players will have less productive and enjoyable experiences'. Just because YOUR personal experience is somewhat worse, that doesn't mean that the majority of the other players feels the same. I, for one, find that now FINALLY Control is back to being FUN, after months and months of being absolutely awful! I cannot THANK Bungie enough for having brought SBMM back!!! I don't see a significant difference in lag. It's not that there wasn't any lag before. On the contrary! And I recorded many clips to prove it. Funny thing is, the worse laggers were usually those with 'Flawless' emblems. I wonder why. And I am thankful that with SBMM I don't get to see many of those anymore. I won't be missing them, lol! As for the non-existent issue of waiting times, I don't see any major difference. And at any rate, I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer if that means having fun and a chance at playing balanced matches, where I feel like I actually have a fair chance at winning one vs one engagements instead of being instantly annihilated ALL THE TIME. Now finally I no longer need to 'camp' around a corner, hiding all the time while trying to pick opponents from across the map with a scout rifle, in order to survive more than just a few seconds. As for quitters, I confess I USED TO BE one of those who frequently abandoned matches cause CBMM for me was a terrible, frustrating, AWFUL miserable experience MOST OF THE TIME. Now, though, I stay till the END because for me SBMM matches are FUN and enjoyable whether I win or lose, it doesn't matter. What matters is that NOW I feel like I can actually FACE my opponents with a fair chance, and I can actually RUN AROUND and try different guns and play styles and HAVE FUN. So I have NO REASON to quit matches any more. For those who claim that 'the community doesn't like SBMM' I say this: I beg to differ. Because you don't like it, it doesn't mean everybody else doesn't like it. So, speak for yourself, cause one thing is for sure: you are not speaking for me! And I bet that the majority of average players, those who were getting regularly stomped in CBMM, welcome this positive change and hope that it will stay here for as long as possible. In the end the number will tell Bungie whether this was a positive or negative decision. I vote for 'positive' on my part. Thanks, Bungie! This was the BEST gift in Season 18 and absolutely worth the money I spent for the season pass in on itself!!! This season I will be playing a lot of Crucible!

12 通の返信Ray92により編集済み: 8/28/2022 11:59:17 AMWhile it's more sweaty indeed I don't mind it, at least most games are close games now, often ending in 130/140-150 I've lost 3 in a row, won 3 in a row. It's pretty balanced now, while I do notice a bit more lag during games I don't really mind it At least I haven't faced any sweaty stacks yet, did face a 2/3 stack every now and then When I get tossed in with 4 people with 0 triumph score in my team against a bunch of 15k triumphs I just immediately quit at the start and queue up again Will continue to do so untill they penalize quitting My game, my rules. Instead of whining about facing similarly skilled players I just enjoy the ride I've seen how streamers (PvP streamers) faceroll in control, dropping 50 bombs and what not constantly against basically new players. They have a big smile on their face the whole time. Now when I watch those toxic streamers (Like PureChiLL for example), all I see is them whining on twitch "Bruh the game is so dogmeat now this fkin sucks omg look at this connection it sucks so hard I cant hit my shots boohoooooo cwy cwy cwy" And that puts a smile on my face. Others saying "30 bomb is the new 50 bomb" , more smiles on my face About time the bullies got thrown in the same loot pool as the other bullies Oh? Should I stop sucking and get better? Nah, why? I don't need to now, SBMM puts me in the same trash pool as my skills, with the occasional error (And I just quit those matches) All in all it's more competitive for everyone, and alot of children can't handle this. I suggest you chug more Focus/GFuel and suck it up And so sorry to hear it's no longer "chill" for you buddy, if you consider chilling to be facerolling stacks of new players with your meta crutch loadout and your unbroken/flawless clan mates. So sad indeed, it's so "unchill" now for the likes of you who used to mercy groups of blueberries and now you actually have to work to win the game If you want chill , go play minecraft

1 返信The new LFG request. “Please be bad and be our host” Clowns want to farm in the lower skill groups 🤣 This alone is the very reason KD tracking needs to be abolished from control. Just track captures.
-
1 返信Now that they've added SBMM to Control, all we need now is to get rid of Non-Flawless pool farmers

8 通の返信No. What do the sweats say to the casuals; cope, mald, get gud? People already showed the population for pvp is higher now than the same time last season. Nothing's changed at all except the attitude from the sweats needing to play themselves. Lag is the same, queue is the same, cheese is the same, crutch is the same. It's been better, the flow, the pace, the gunplay, no different queue times, some laggy players, but the actual matches felt more balanced. It's not even full sbmm so you lot are way over exaggerating; just saying this crap so you can get it back to steam roll lesser players.

1 返信We arrive where we are when people who suck at something think the game should be changed so they can lie to themselves and feel like they aren’t trash. Usually after months or year of people who cry more than play yell in bungies direction and get the change they demand things end up worse for those who actually do play. It’s funny to watch.

7 通の返信Paniks, The Scaredにより編集済み: 8/28/2022 9:03:06 AMlmfao because heavens forbid you need to actually TRY instead of just bullying players all day. Get over it. It is literally impossible to get better at pvp when you are being stomped by sweatlords every match.

15 通の返信So instead of rolling players in control, to "Chill", you play quick play and get matched vs players your own skill and you do not like it. SBMM allows for a fair match for all players. No one get to be be king dog every match and get 25+ kills vs new players or players with low skill. If you do not like an actual competition with other players then you do not really like PVP. If all you want is to rule over less skilled players, then you are not interested in a fair and balanced PVP experience. PVP in a game with no way to balance the players will always be lop sided and ultimately a crappy game mode. Hence the never ending complaining about how crappy PVP is in this game.

2 通の返信
The point of the post was to highlight that Control/Quickplay should be a fun and chill experience. Getting rolled is not fun.
Hmm. Interesting. "Fun and chill." So like... you deserve to roll the enemy because you want to have fun, but the guys getting rolled don't get to be upset about it? This is why these arguments will always fall on their face. They're made by players who think they deserve to be a one-man-army when they go to Crucible to "chill out" and stomp mudholes in new/low skill players. It's pretty sad that that's the only way you can enjoy yourself. Go run Lost Sectors or something instead.

1 返信Bungie should make another pass at comp and give it some incentive because that playlist is dead.

15 通の返信Pvp has always had major flaws, but now it’s the worse I’ve ever seen. When pvp is this bad I play destiny a lot less. And that’s fine with me, but the folks at bungie gotta understand why d2 is hardly a top 20 game. Now cater to pve scrubs and increase drop rates…. Hurry up
-
Tis-but-a-scratchにより編集済み: 8/30/2022 11:03:06 PMI’ll stand on the side of SBMM any day. But I’d be willing to straddle that fence more if Bungie would just figure out team balance. But for whatever reason they can’t or simply don’t want to. Balancing the teams can’t be that hard? Right?
-
1 返信I think that you and so many others players got theirs KD artificially inflated by farming lower skill players, and now that the system tries to match you and others players with a similar skill (KD) it ends up putting you in these unfun games, the best thing the hole pvp community needs to face it is, you need to play and loose and feed even when playing an unfun match, soon or later you will end with your KD in a level that reflects your skill and them you will have fun (if you like fair games).
-
3 通の返信"but instead feel like i cannot have a good time in control now" That says it all. You can't enjoy it, because you can not simply cruise through it. Your good time was at the cost of many others sweat, or didn't that matter to you? You also say that "This (I believe) is SIGNIFICANTLY hurting PvP as it not only discourage any players from playing pvp, but does quite the opposite. What I mean is that players will have less productive and enjoyable experiences which progressively damages both the look and feel of PvP as a whole." I guess the simple way to see if this is true, is compare the population of Control in the next few weeks, to the population last season.

7 通の返信Guardian5561により編集済み: 8/28/2022 9:59:15 AMScared to play people your own skill level 😂 It's like top division sports teams playing 5 year olds... 😂 Maybe you're not as good as you thought you were. 😂😂😂

10 通の返信I actually didn't notice a difference lol. Had I not of read the changes I probably would have thought nothing of it.
-
14 通の返信Oh no, I can’t pick on casual players anymore and I have to actually try in my matches? The horror!

6 通の返信Speak for yourself. From what I’ve seen it’s better. They still need to work on team balance which is a huge problem. Furthermore it’s loose SBMM. You getting rolled now lets you know how the last several years have felt for the majority.
