People “announce” it in hopes of somehow making a difference in a game they enjoy - a game that, in their opinion,has taken the wrong path. Not announcing it, and actually doing it, would be worse for everyone. In that scenario, Bungie gets no input and the community doesn’t know why the population is shrinking.

Literally pointless to announce it, nothing will change, just like the 100 buff warlock posts when all of those whiners are playing wrong. Bungie 100% does not care, otherwise you wouldn't have had to watch the Lightfall reveal in it's cornball state.
