They nerfed Dawnblade by removing Everlasting Flame (extended super on kills) and the Truth level of tracking
AND on top of that they Nerfed Dawn Chorus so now you can’t even use it for dps???
So it’s bad at ad clearing/crowd control and it’s bad at single target damage, and it has a Tier 4 cooldown!?
Bungie ruined Dawnblade.
Bungie ruined Dawnblade.
No they didn't. They balanced it with respect to the rest of the game. Dawnblade was overpowered because (for PVE) bottom-tree had the best neutral game AND one of the best supers. IN Solar 3.0, Bungie retuned it.. They made the neutral game powerful on par with Stasis and Void 3.0 (but with a DoT emphasis rather than crowd-control)...and then tuned the Super so that it is also on par with WW and Nova Bomb. So now there is no longer any "obvious" choice to run....and no power LOSS when you switch between the subclasses. You choose which one based on which FUNCTION you want to perform. If I want trash mob crowd control, then Ii'm going to pick either Void or Stasis. If I want to burn down high priority targets or tankier mobs....then Solar is now the subclass of choice as a Warlock. If its in power-fantasy content...then go dawnblade. If its in end-game content....Well of Radiance. This is how well-made RPGs work...and how each class/subclass has its own pesronality....and arsenal of functions that it excels at.

To the tune of about 10 000 hours between the two games. I'm one of the longest running Warlock mains in the game. Any other questions? Next time you try to play "gotcha" with me, don't selectively quote me and take what I said out of context.

If you don't believe that alone made it best for neutral game well then I guess you don't actually play warlock at all. Then empower melee for 35% more damage for 10 whole seconds just for using it, pretty sure it also gave benevolent dawn too.

Smh. I am not going to waste my time with you right-fighter. You can’t even accurately quote what I said, and I’m not going to waste my evening chasing you around as you keep moving the goalposts in a desperate need to be right in a pointless HAIRSPLITTING argument. Go. Bother. Someone. Else.

I accept your concession. But if you want to talk about both neutral game and super... Middle tree still wins as Dawnblade was not very useful in endgame content over a well that supports an entire team of players and can make you essentially invulnerable with little cost. While Dawnblade costed you to charge it then use it for a little bit and do pitiful amounts of damage unless you ran Dawn Chorus before they nerfed it to make it anywhere half way decent.

Call it what ever you want. I don’t give a -blam!-. I just have gotten into enough arguments with right-fighters (like you) to know it’s an unwinnable game that is a waste of time and energy. Especially in this case because the neutral games you want to argue over is comparing apples to lawn furniture. So the answer to which is better is SITUATIONAL. If I’m hungry the apple is better. If I want to sit my -blam!- down the furniture is better. It’s a stupid, pointless disagreement. If I’m looking to do mobile, individual damage I’m picking bottom-tree. If I need to do stactic, team damage, I’d pick middle tree. THATS HOW RPGS WORK. Different tools for different jobs. But trying to win an argument with a right-fighter is a waste of time because they’ll just keep moving the goalposts and claiming what they said was something else. Im literally watching a podcast where the host is up against a right-fighter. It’s an hour into the show, and she is still stubbornly arguing a point the host disproved in the first 5 minutes. He even showed video proving that she’s arguing against things he never said but her pride just won’t let her be wrong. It makes for absurdly funny entertainment, but dealing with people like this—-and you—-IRL is a waste of time. Good night.

Never heard the term "right-fighter" before. But anyway you said...
If I’m looking to do mobile, individual damage I’m picking bottom-tree

THATS HOW RPGS WORK. Different tools for different jobs.
Okay, then why does an easier to access tool do a way better job than the tool that takes a lot more to access? RPG's also work on balance which you seem to not be able to grasp the concept of what I am arguing.
