Daybreak is stupidly underpowered, you get 5 sword swipes which do pretty much squat agains bosses. I believe Daybreak needs a 25 - 45% damage buff and needs an increase in super duration

Don't forget that you can only use Phoenix Dive if you give up Rift and, even in your Super, I believe it still consumes the ability charge. It went from a free ability with a 4-second cooldown that was great for extending the Super duration to costing your Rift to get one charge of it.

13 通の返信They nerfed Dawnblade by removing Everlasting Flame (extended super on kills) and the Truth level of tracking AND on top of that they Nerfed Dawn Chorus so now you can’t even use it for dps??? So it’s bad at ad clearing/crowd control and it’s bad at single target damage, and it has a Tier 4 cooldown!? Bungie ruined Dawnblade.

It needs a lot more than love. It needs open heart surgery and powerful meds. It feels like -blam!- to constantly be in these nonsensical Bungie cycles. Story is badly written. Slowly pull out of that tailspin. Armor is bad? Slowly pull out of that tailspin. Weapons are bad? Slowly pull out of that tailspin. Now we're on to supers, I guess. And we're in the part of the cycle where Bungie refuses to admit just how -blam!- things are.

Day Break is terrible for endgame and it's terrible in general. If you are going to run Dawnblade, just use Well or heck, Agars Scepter would be a better "super" waster. Think about it. 1 (let me reiterate) just 1 touch of flame sticky not only scorches and ignites, but it does nearly 2 to even 3x the damage of 1 Day Break projectile. A single Day Break projectile hit against the lost sector boss Carl the Cabal, does around 20k-25k assuming everything hits. The ignition from the fusion grenade itself does almost 20k and that's not even counting the 2 sets of damage from each explosion and the scorch burn it also applies. It also frees your hands so you can dump extra damage if you want to. Day Break is bad for ad clearing as well. It takes sometimes 2-3 hits just to kill 1 major whereas a sticky can 1 shot them and cause an ignition that usually kills everything else around them. As long as you have a rift, you can spam stickies like there's no tomorrow, hell, you don't ever need the Well for that. Then the biggest problem, (aside from the fact you need to run 3 fragments just to make it actually good at clearing ads) Day Break CANT scorch enemies. So unless you main Dawn Chorus (which doesn't help that much either) your super can't do any burn damage whatsoever. The only thing Day Break is good for is speed running or getting somewhere real quick in Pvp, but why would you waste a super for that when Heat Rises + Icarus dash are options? Or if you feel like wasting 3 fragments, give it better tracking, all super final blows cause ignition and ignitions spread scorch then you'll have a fine pvp super or an easy way to finish that stupid scorch kill bounty. 😉 For what it does Well has the fastest cooldown in the game next to bubble whereas DayBreak has what, almost a 9 min cooldown? It does less damage than a fusion grenade and feels like a wet noodle. It barely does anything better than Shadebinder or Nova Warp and those supers can chain freeze and explosions without needing additional fragments or an exotic. Day Break needs some love and I'd recommend at least these 2 changes. - Daybreak projectiles scorch on hit by default. It's a solar super with a flaming sword... No way this doesn't scorch but my little finger snaps can.. I don't buy that for a second. [spoiler]Have Dawn Chorus make it cause ignition on hit so it'll basically have the same Damage boost it had prior where your burn applied the weaken effect. [/spoiler] - ignition multikills extend the supers duration [spoiler]in the same vain as a Titan in a sunspot or a Hunter with his 6 shooter [/spoiler] If these don't work... Bring back Heart of Praxic Fire and have it's exotic trait be "replaces super with Viking Funeral" Let it basically just give you infinite melee (if you are on Day Break) or Infinite Grenade (if you're on Well) energy as your super. Finger snapz for days. TRIPMINES for days.

21 通の返信Yeah dawnblade igniting enemies on kill shouldn’t require a fragment. Dawnblade scorching targets on hit shouldn’t require an exotic. Both should be built into dawnblade, because if not I’ll just stick to well unless I’m playing crucible. I’m fine with it not being great for boss damage, but it’s sucks as an add clear too and there’s no reason to use it unless you build into it. Now building into a super to make it much more powerful is fine, but needing to build into a super just for it to be usable? It’s absurd.

10 通の返信Solar warlock only has 2 modes, dawnblade for PvP or well for PvE. If your playing it any other way you are playing it wrong. Switch to void for nova bombs if you want to do boss dmg with a super.

6 通の返信It is comical seeing the discussions on D2 nerfs and buffs. I remember when Dawnblade was only viable PVP and got nerfed because x2 Icarus Dash made hunters sad. …but stompees, x2 dodge, shatterdive was cool.

1 返信Then they had the [i]temerity[/i] to make it have a longer base cooldown than Shadebinder lmao! Nova bomb needs a damage buff too. It's lagging way behind the other 1 and done supers. If this is what Light 3.0 is giving, then I weep for the upcoming shitshow that's going go be "Arc 3.0".

6 通の返信I saw Cross's vid on top damagins supers and Dawnblade was comically bad. Like, at the very bottom by itself bad. It def needs a buff, no question about it. I couldn't believe how bad it was.

The tier system is garbage, we don’t need 5 tiers for supers. 3 is honestly more than enough, dawn blade taking 10 minutes to charge is ridiculous. Even if you use all your points into intellect, there are games where Im lucky to even get the super once. Its impossible to get anything with mercies and nothing sucks more than finally be able to use the super only to get immediately shut down by a faster charging super.

26 通の返信Dawnblade already has a really good duration. It also can swing 7-8 times (can't remember the exact number, but I know it's one of these 2). The problem with it in pve is that they do no damage. That was a problem with sunbreaker as well, but now we have access to things like roaring flames and they threw the embers onto it so the super is always extra lethal now. Dawnblade might need more than just damage, maybe some stuff to help better with add clear.

No it doesn't. The function you are looking for has been transferred to Scorch/Ignite...and is applied through your abiliities and your choice of weapons. So you need to work with the changes, and construct a build that will support that kind of play if that is what you want. TLDR: What you want to do is already in the game. Bungie is no longer just handing it to you out of the box.
