I think ppl truly misinterpret what “freedom of speech” means.
When I hear what people think of the meaning its “oh I can say whatever I want and have zero accountability” take amber heard as an example.
It isn’t a get-out-of-jail-free-card when you say something bad.
It actually means that you should take accountability and that you have a say in a court of law.
So, you have a freedom to have different opinions, and say them openly but that doesn’t mean you can lie, accuse, or insult someone with zero accountability.
Not saying you’re doing that but that is how some interpret freedom of speech.
Also the word is generally used strictly for government and political affairs, if someone blocks you or whatever, it’s not bc they don’t support freedom of speech, it means that have the freedom to block you bc ppl are annoying.

I researched this as a kid since some racists always used freedom of speech as a excuse and everyone looked away like "they have a point, look away boys"
You can say whatever you want but you will either get slapped by said person or the government starts looking at you thinking "we should stop this Walmart Joker"
