Oh I remember the days when this forum was lit up with posts where everyone was asking for bounties in the game. Now everyone wants them removed.
Yet another example of Bungie can't win.

Or it’s a typical case of Bungie taking what could just be one nice aspect of the game and then overdoing it to death while at the same time making it a joyless slog. This isn’t all player’s fault. Bungie could do a better job balancing the power grind. Easier to just blame the victim I guess.
-
Huh? Were you not here at that point? Nothing made up at all, when D2 released there were no bounties and this forum was awash with people demanding the return of bounties. So, tell me, what exactly did I make up?
-
That's not really relevant to what I said. The community as a whole was adamant they wanted bounties back, now the community as a whole is starting to become adamant they want them removed. This happens all the time. Countless examples of Bungie being damned if they do and damned if they don't.
-
Of course it's relevant. Everyone knows bungo isn't going to give a real solution. So people know that half measure trash changes are all you are going to get and should bother asking for. They are going to make you do the pointless grind and people basically asked to make it easier.
-
I get it you are slow at connecting the dots. I'll give very easy obvious examples. Transmog = people wanted transmog, no one wanted what we got in version 1 of it. Crafting = same thing Bounties = people wanted a faster way to get through the awful artifact grind since they know bungie won't remove it and yet again bungie delivered the worst possible version of things. Bungie never gives anything good. It's always some watered down trash with something to piss everyone off. Bounties are their half -blam!- way of removing artifact grind. People did not ask for bounties in their current implementation, they wanted something good, so of course people are complaining. I'm shocked you aren't shilling for crafting n telling anyone complaining about it they are wrong as well.
-
Your attitude is absolutely disgraceful, you made an awful comment that needed explaining because it didn't make sense in the context, then instead of just explaining you come in with that -blam!- attitude. Fairly sure you have no friends, awful person.
-
If you make a comment that is so bad it needs explaining, that's on you. I was cordial towards you, you came at me like some sort of overly aggressive fool with a learning difficulty. Some advice for you... 1) make your comments make sense in their context without further explanation needed. 2) chill out and stop being a needlessly aggressive idiot, you might actually make some friends.

-
Oh I wasn't talking about me. There's absolutely zero chance we would ever form a friendship. I tend to make friends with decent people, not overly aggressive idiots who don't know how to form a response so that it makes sense in its context without further explanation. I just meant in general, you might find a way to make some friends.

Theres an over realiance on them and even more so now that Master Raid versions are available. Compared to the xp you get only from playing, youd be lucky to do anything in a reasonable amount of time during a season. Only to turn around in 3 months time to do it again. OP is asking for a more balanced approach which doesnt seem unreasonable to me. I have a lot of time to play compared to a lot of my clanmates. I end up having to wait for some of them to catch up so that we can do harder content together. That's lame. Not looking for a "handout" but theres gotta be a better way. I do this season after season and like OP said, its tired, I'm tired. Game needs an innovation.

Corrick IIにより編集済み: 4/6/2022 3:35:12 PMYes, but… that’s not an argument. That’s just repeating a statement in defiance of the bigger picture. An argument would involve understanding the reason why players don’t want such an over-reliance on bounties, which you seem intent on ignoring. This isn’t critical thinking, it’s just plain stubbornness.
-
I wasn't in any way attempting to present critical thinking, I was merely pointing out the fact that community wanted bounties, now they have bounties they no longer want them. That's it. I wasn't here for some form of deep and meaningful debate on the ins and outs of developer decision making.
-
This is such a weird hill to die on. I mean, you have to be able to understand nuance, right? Yes, at one point in time people asked for bounties. That doesn’t mean Bungie can just put bounties in the game and forget about them. That’s not how game design works. If Bungie has any pride in their work, they would balance the frequency and content of bounties to provide an experience that is challenging and rewarding. Instead, they copied a pasted a bunch of mad-libbed requirements and then multiplied them across literally every activity, and further they made them integral to the power grind. Just because they put bounties in the game, doesn’t let them off the hook to make them a worthwhile experience. But apparently some people don’t seem to mind.

Corrick IIにより編集済み: 4/7/2022 1:47:57 AMFair enough. Me personally, it’s the monotonous repetition. I don’t want to get rid of bounties entirely, but it would be nice if Bungie tried a little harder to make them more interesting, considering the level of importance they have in the power grind.
