Honestly coming from at best a mediocre pvp player, balance is pretty good very few outliers on either end of the spectrum.
Where pvp does lose the original destiny feel and more like unreal tournament is there needs to be a movement nerf.
The game can't handle its own movement.
Hunters bouncing off walls like a Crack addicted toddler
Top tree warlocks looking like Barry Sanders in jet packs
Titan shoulder charge basically getting you from a to b and back to c on the smaller maps.
The game play is superfast and the games engine has issues keeping up so in a lot of cases it will make people look like they are glitching and teleporting all over the map.
I have pretty good modern hardware for my PC and a good gaming monitor and still have moments of frame ghosting and unreliable visuals.
They need to reduce the over all speed in which pvp is played at or it can't be balanced. It's why all maps feel super small and everyone has to migrate to CQB weapons because they are deadliest with quick reaction times.
I'm not a game expert but my 2 cents is pvp needs an overhaul not to nerf weapons or a class but specifically the speed at which the game play takes place.
If you don't agree that's cool I respect your opinion, but here is my not important 2cents on the matter.
Honestly, a huge problem is the pvp community wanting such a ridiculous TTk while simultaneously calling for gunplay. There can't be "gunplay" if things drop in such a short amount of time.
In all honesty, TTk closer to D2Y1 is the better "gunplay", even if you dealt with players fleeing from fire fights and hiding to recover their shield and health more than they can now (because they are usually dead now with TTK).
Especially with our small maps that encourage team stacking instead of spreading out with more 1v1 like D1.
Slower TTK and much larger maps, and that'd go a long way to put Crucible at least on a better track.
Although I have gotten used to the speeds we have now, I do agree. If we had back our D1 speeds, the maps wouldn’t feel so cramped.
Though I still want more maps and larger maps.
But I bet there would be some decent blowback if we got put back to our normal speed aka D1. Think our speed pre “go fast” update was slower than D1 but I could be wrong there.
I'm not saying necessarily d1 speed. I admit I would enjoy that, but there should be some sort of physics hard stop on speed that keeps it consistently optimized at atleast 60fps.
It is not belief that yes while lag will always cause issues, many of the issues in pvp are blamed on lag even with prioritiesed CBMM..... it's not all lag, the game can't keep up with how fast the movement is and this causes ghosting which looks like lag buts actually an inherent hardware problem which is why for some it doesn't get any better.
So honestly bungie is currently doing a disservice to itself by not capping the physics for how fast a toon can move.
