Titan. If you do boot have at least 9 resilience… I get this post.
If you do, then your build vs your play style is not cohesive. (Not in a rude way)
That, at least, 9 resilience is paramount.
As far as builds, Titans are the most versatile with reward while playing.
Hunters, easy mode of you uses easier mode Ie stasis.
Warlocks, high iq.. really good builds.. but it takes a lot as a player to succeed.
Titans.. pick your poison and commit your build for many scenarios… but if you do not hit that high resilience.. you are looking through a very small window.
Right I can see how like each class should spec into their class abilities stat could help. But damage resistance past certain tiers is useless unless you’re just aiming for more barricades. I think the max you’d ever even want to run is 6 or 7 which is already not necessary. Willing to hear you out but other than shield spam what would be the purpose? Like being tanky is nice but you’d almost have to run max resilience to even alter a weapons natural ttk. (Of course this differs with weapons like thorn and even Tommy’s matchbook). But I can see you getting to my point about how warlocks just have that higher glass ceiling with a more complex build but it offers more utility. Is there a benefit from resil that I am missing?
9 resilience buys you all the precautions you would normally have to worry about. Three tap thorn, kill clip, bows etc.. not happening.
Shields are iq or useless… you are either running crest of alpha lupi or popping a shield in what is most likely a loss scenario regardless.
Titans, to take advantage of a lot of exotics, are in your face.
You are going to take hits and you are going to have weapon damage on you… so you want to abuse this with as much resilience as you can get.
Titans do not need mobility to be the fastest. 4 mobility and knowing how to abuse the strafe lift leaves people behind. Paired with high mobility weapons… you are a high tier rocket throwing out a lot of damage.
Recovery, another great perk to go with overshield exotics and being aggressive.
Grenades… probably secondary to your melee.. melee’s being rewarded per a lot of exotics. Depend on what subclass you prefer plus exotic armor/gameplay style. Example top tree ac gives you double grenade.:. So spec into melee over grenade
Supers? Are you looking to be a good player or use supers?
The one thing I have noticed since the last stat changes…you will not notice a huge difference between 2 resilience to 8. It “may” buy you an escape… but you are not playing a titan correctly at that point because this is a peak/distant shooting scenarios and you would be playing passively.
Resilience is different for each class just like mobility on hunter and recovery on a warlock. Resilience obviously is on titan.
Anything under 9… you will melt under any damage buff perk… 9 or 10 resilience… you are seeing a significant percentage jump over anything 2 resilience all the way to 8.
Titans are great for in the air grenade launching aggressive play… or boots on the ground challenging close quarters..
Anything else.. then you are wasting away perks that you could get on another class to boost said play style.
If you are a player that pauses on a push towards a wounded enemy… you are on the wrong class or have not yet committed to a full build.
Per stats.. I am just the average of average…
But that is due to the fact I like playing very aggressively and will gladly go into a 1 v 4 situation knowing I will most likely be dead ASAP
But when I pull off those w’s in those scenario.. that is why I am addicted to this game.
My point however… Is due to how I play.. I know first hand what is being done via damage and what it takes to combat it.
I assure you.. a 9 resilience combined with a committed to build… you will notice the difference.
Good to know I’ll have to try a high resilience build to see how I like it. I’ve been a Titan main since D1 and have tried a lot of different play styles so I mix it up depending on the meta. I do agree that Titans don’t need high mobility because of strafe which is nice especially paired with a lightweight weapon. Thanks for the suggestion. This post was mostly created after a week of frustrating crucible and wanted to see if people had some different things for me to try lol
