You'll never get them to slow down. Because they just don't CARE what kind of experience you're having as a result of their actions.
If you run into someone running past everything and dragging you along. So you can't shoot anything because its all despawning? Just go to orbit...and look to match with someone more considerate.
If they want to act as though the are the only person in the lobby? Treat them that way.

The slow grinders to the speed runners and everyone in between.
-
meh, it does work both ways KG. Speedrunner’s have the right to run strikes the way they enjoy them. It doesn’t bother me, and I’m not going to bail on a strike, I’ll get the completion. But, if I pair up with someone sparrow’ing the entire strike just to get to the final boss, I’ll let him do the entire final boss by himself, if he dies and gets the 30 second cone of shame, so be it, I’ll emote sit on his corpse, lol. I kinda agree with you here, but it doesn’t bother me to encounter speedrunners, just like it doesn’t bother me to have AFK’ers or Lost Sector farmers.

You can usually tell pretty early on in the strike. You see them haul ass through everything, stay out in the “public” zone and do as much to clear your bounties til you get pulled. There’s always another strike. It’s nbd
-
So i have to care about your bounties but you dont care about the pinnacle gear i am trying to get? I can count on one finger how many people have a mic in strikes. So you are saying we need to somehow verify with other players about what they are trying to accomplish before starting? Ummmm lfg for two others to solve your problem
-
It’s a shared space. No one has a “right” to do anything that doesn’t take into consideration other in that space. I don’t have a right to blare my music at 120db at 3AM, simply because I own the property. My neighbors will call the police to get a stop put to the disturbance, and have every right to.

TheArtistにより編集済み: 7/29/2021 6:24:29 PMI dont' run slow. I play the game as the developers intended. it is the speed runner who is doing something unusual and unintended in the space. The irony is that---when I do choose not to leave----I usually wind up clearing the strike faster than the speed runner. Because I know HOW to play efficiently, and I'm not dying becuase I'm trying to run past everything.

No it isn't. Which is why Bungie has taken to putting in walls and other means of stopping people from doing that. Just look at the latest strikes that were added to the game. Glassway and Caital strike were both designed in a way to prevent players from running past the enemies and not engaging them. But the more you dig in and try to defend doing it, the more you just validate my post to the OP.
-
It really depends. If I see only one player sprinting past everything, I usually stick with the one taking their time. See, majority tends to rule in most cases. If the rest of your team is hanging back and being thorough maybe you need to go back to orbit and try again.
-
Except majority doesn't rule here. I can run ahead and if there's slowpokes holding back I'll just pull them forward. So majority doesn't rule. If you wanna be slow and waste time, make a full team and run it
-
But that’s the rub dude… your ‘way’ directly affects everyone else in the strike with you… and basically craps on their experience. It’s the same with schmoes that run off to public events or lost sectors to farm stuff. Both are crappy behavior in a publicly matchmade playlist.

KG, are you seriously trying to compare illegal acts that have been codified into law with a courtesy we would like to see others give? At no point in time has “shared spaces” ideology meant everybody acts in the same manner.
-
Why do you think its illegal? Its illegal because people thought it was such an obnoxious thing to do, that they decided to pass a LAW against it so that people got the message not to do it....and others had a means to put a stop to it if they didn't.
At no point in time has “shared spaces” ideology meant everybody acts in the same manner.
Good, because no one's arguing that. But it does mean that people who want to play the game AS INTENDED by the devs, shouldn't have to put up with being dragged along.....having enemies literally despawn in front of them....or even WIPING the entire team because they've run too far ahead and DIED. Simply because they ignore everyone else, and choose to behave like they are the only person in the lobby. In short, to literally have their experience of play RUINED by someone else's selfishness. Like I told the OP. He's not going to change people who do this. Because they just will double down and rationalize/defend the behavior. Which is why I said he needs to take care of himself. Not hang around and have his experience disregarded and disrespected. Go to orbit....go back into matchmaking...and try to find a situation with players who are more considerate.
