I mean, Acrius has always been very good with its catalyst. There's a reason it was meta for Ghalran. Also very good for most of LW. I feel that you could use it on Templar with great success.
I think the issue is more of a mindset in the player base. Just because it doesn't do double slug/Anarchy w/ Breach levels of DPS, it is somehow bad. This isn't far off from the mindset during D1 Y1, when it was "Gjallarhorn or kick." If you werent using Gjallarhorn, anything else you did was bad apparently.
The problem is that if Acrius gets buffed, it will be too good. Just like Thorn in D1. Everybody thought that gun was trashed when it came out, when in reality it was very good. At the time, SUROS Regime was the "best" PvP weapon in the game, but I would always delete them using Thorn.
When Bungie announced that they were buffing Thorn, I immediately knew what they were about to unleash. Buffing a weapon that is very good, albeit with a slight drawback? Yikes. And now Thorn is infamous for being a terror and breaking PvP. Because it got buffed.
I'm scared that if they buff Acrius, they will eventually nerf it to be worse than it is now because people will realize how good it is and everyone will use it. I would rather they just not touch it honestly.

Like I mentioned the problem is that in order to deal "good" damage you have to land 100% of your crits, which is tricky since it's a pellet shotgun with a large spread and low aim assist. Additionally you have to get within 11 meters of your target which is boss stomp distance. I cant think of a single group who called LOA meta for any of those raids, especially crown of sorrow since that was during the GL meta.

svenkirにより編集済み: 6/7/2021 4:41:53 PMIt was only meta for CoS, not really for LW (though it deletes Morgeth). In fairness, when I say meta I do mean several months after the release of CoS. Tractor connon on boss, Well of Radiance, everybody spams Acrius next to the boss. If its not clear, I really love Acrius. Its probably my favorite exotic weapon. I'd love for it to fall into favor. But I don't want Bungie to screw it up, and I'm fine with it as is since it does fine on damage. Granted its been a while since I've done any theory crafting with it. Probably gonna try it on Templar tonight, now that I'm thinking about it It is also REALLY good for Kali. That was the old strat for Petra's run. Just use Acrius

I ran cos all the time and every group I've ever played with always did tractor with 5 rapid fire gls. Even a lot of the raid kings ran GLs over loa, and this comes down to the fact that acrius relies on crit damage
-
See, I'm not convinced that crit thing is true. But like I said, I'm gonna take a look at it tonight. You could be right, but my opinion is based on not hitting crits. A lot of the groups I ran with (especially for Flawless) used Acrius on CoS because it was a braindead one-phase, super easy

I'm not worried about PvP. Just using Thorn as an example of a weapon that was perfectly fine but underrated, got buffed, and then a nerf made it worse than it was pre-buff. (But the number of Striker Titans in super that I've disintegrated with Acrius in PvP is insane)
