Unbelievably hilarious and stupid set of complaints here. Literally just complaining in the abstract about stress levels and anxiety. The only complaint you even make about the raid itself is the enemies move around constantly so you can’t hit them?? Bruh FPS games are about aiming. Tracking. Character movement. If you can’t even get past the first encounter then you just suck. I really don’t understand why you so badly want to play on day 1 when it is meant to be a challenge for hardcore players. It’s not babies first raid up in here. Also so so so funny you just HAD to mention you’re a “day 1 player” lmao

  • And these are easily translated without a set time of familiarity? Seriously, if you have a constant fireteam, every exotic, and are the type to be carried by trials then you ought not to dismiss the comments of others who aren't willing to sell their souls just to try soemthing "Hardcore" That wasn't hardcore, hardcore involves an increased challenge- not a purposeful attempt at disarming players So here, let's count the issues with just Gate 1 Cyclopes spawn three, but the respawn is set as fast as 30 seconds, they have tracking set to the entirety of the map- meaning that they can act as snipers for the fireteams on other plates (which caused most plate wipes as they are able to prime their fire while you are behind cover Minotaurs have a set spawn and pattern that can quickly become altered leading to twice the minotaurs spawning on the right plate or none in the middle, easy to handle, but teleport is extremely rigged to prevent explosive use on him without some sort of area effect or suppression Hobgoblins have the most broken AI, they fire slower so long as you keep them seperate, with a usually two hit kill, after two minutes in, they become more dangerous, firing twice as fast and able to body you in one hit as soon as you attempt to reseize the plate Respawning was idiotic, constantly either sending you back to the start, the opposite side of the map or to the bottom of the structure while the enemies continued to spawn, guardians were bodies merely attempting to recover lost ground, others bodies trying to leave their plates to help the others Goblins are okay, but the "boost" in "Difficultity" did lead to issues in focusing on the major clear and with two guardians per plate and most average and new light players lacking the proper area effect or add clear weapons means you are forced to wing it constantly And that's if you are willing to switch characters to play the raid, some people only play one type of character, like I have two hunters, and there are fireteams on here right now either demanding I somehow already beat the raid recently, have prefect knowledge of what'll occur or that I be a titan or Warlock only That is not inclusive, and to be frank, the vanity this game encourages players to embrace and abuse others with is nothing close to the type of community Bungie pretends to support If "hardcore" means "I play games to prove myself to others and show off on the interwebs" then count the majority of the long-term community out, some of us started gaming as children and honestly- games and these events are not focus on us- doesn't mean they couldn't or that we don't have an interest in a challenge The point is that we are not in the game for the sake of ourselves or our K/D or the next loot option We just wanted to enjoy reliving the past with our mates and wanted to join the worldwide community event to do so- that's called community- fellowship- bonding Yet how many are only concerned about their next "W" and getting "Another Roll" I guess the people who play for the sake of enjoying the game world Bungie created don't matter...

Wow that’s a long way of saying you suck at the game. Nearly every “problem” you listed have the same exact solution. Kill the enemies. If you don’t play the game enough to have a build even capable of opening the raid then I honestly think you must lack the most basic grasp on the Destiny sandbox. It legit sounds like you are out here using 2 primaries and standing still trying to kill these enemies on the Day 1 Raid Race. If you want the easier experience then how about you wait literally 1 day and play the raid once contest is lifted. All your other lame floundering about “the community” or “hardcore players” is just nonsense. Of course people want to complete the Day 1 raid to get the emblem. Raids are literally called ASPIRATIONAL content. If you suck too much to even open the raid then you simply need to get better. In regards to all your other nonsense criticizing me for “having every exotic” “getting carried in trials” and “always having a set team” I fail to see how any of that is even relevant not to mention I don’t have a set team. For VoG you literally only need Xenophage, Anarchy, and Izanagi. Beyond that if you want a chill experience, wait until after day 1. If you want to sweat, it’s literally called a Day One Raid Race PS: I’m 22 years old and work a full time job. Before you try to call me a no life or whatever I literally work 45 hours a week so.

  • Yeah. I finished the contest clear but not challenge. The only mechanical change I dislike is the fact you cannot break out of your own detain

  • Well I definitely really enjoyed this raid and I think with no contest any team that can communicate and work independently together can definitely get it done. I think the changes are subtle enough to feel like a remix while increasing the difficulty by a good amount. The real change throughout is that any Oracle’s that appear need to be shot in an order. Definitely having knowledge of oracle spawn locations and especially sounds is very very helpful so D1 knowledge is useful. Overall I think this is a much more challenging and engaging experience than the original VoG while still giving that great satisfaction and team play dynamic people enjoy about destiny raids. Also I think the original VoG is a pretty bare bones raid in terms of what’s come after so the added mechanical complexity is very welcome in my eyes and also makes it so much more dependent on team play. OG VoG 3–4 people can carry super hard and you literally don’t even need to understand any of it to get through with good players. With reprise VoG, your weak link will cause you to wipe many times
