Dear Bungie,
I am wondering why EVERY other gaming company avoids forced difficulty and you embrace it like a PFD on a sinking ship. Making the raid challenging is one thing, but making it so that people have anxiety attacks and quit because you made it difficult in the worst way possible, by reducing the light that we worked SO HARD to get to before you dropped the raid, and we could barely do any damage.
I did not want to do the contest mode. I knew is would be a shit show like Deep Stone Crypt was. 1000's of players trying to figure out how to get DPS from our underlighted weapons. I was dead set against it. Reducing our light as you have done many times in the past is the shittiest, most unthought out way to make the raid more challenging. It this how you're going to do the Hard mode raids in the future? Skimp out on intelligence and reduce our light instead of being innovative and intelligent in the crafting of our gaming experience?
So my friends and clan mates convinced me to help them out as I am an experienced raider and an original D1 player from Day 1. 45 min and we're stuck on the first encounter still and not making any progress because you released the raid without fixing the teleporting issues that you have, and the mobs were running all over the place making it impossible to kill them, that and getting one hit by everything despite 90+ resilience and EVERY mod that increases damage resistance. I did not want to have to basically do a flawless raid to get past the first mode.
My anxiety peaked 45 min in and if my power hadn't suddenly gone out I probably would have quit out and walked away.
This type of strategy has driven entire clans to quit this game and walk away never to return again. My former clan mates did not even come back to try out this raid because they knew it was going to be a debacle that they did not want to witness or participate in.
I was excited for the raid until I heard the way it was dropping. Why could you not release the normal mode the same day for those of us who just wanted a fun experience and not a shit show of a raid contest? All my excitement faded in about 5 min into the contest mode as I realized that once again, regardless of grinding and grinding to get my light up to level I was not going to get a day one clear again because the contest mode was too hard for 95% of the player base.
You have driven my friends list off to other games, you have driven my clan to Outsiders, Phasmophobia, GTA5 and anything other than Destiny and now I have no one to play with in a community style participation game. Matchmaking sucks as half the time I get new lighters that do not understand how to play the content yet. I have been driven away from this game, the ONLY game I play, twice int he past, if you push me out the next time I most likely will not return, as my play mate, clan mates and friends before me.
Please return to the Destiny of old, become innovators again, make us enjoy your content, not look at it and sigh that we have to repeat the same shit 40 million times to advance.
Please stop being lazy in trying to make things more challenging. Please stop being lazy about fixing the bugs that we keep reporting to you, and yet you release new content with the same shitty buggy mess to play, which is absolutely unenjoyable.
I hope you listen to us, I hope you listen to the quiet majority who, like me, normally do not go this far to let you know how we feel. The loud minority should not control your gaming models.

I... wow. I've never seen someone get mad over the fact they couldnt wait a SINGLE DAY, TWENTY FOUR HOURS.. to do the raid. I dont know a single person that "grinded" to get to 1300 for vault of glass either. Even friends that play destiny maybe.. once every two weeks were already 1300. Because it was last seasons cap. Not this seasons, LAST seasons. Unless you had a 3 month hiatus from Destiny, you were 1300ish or higher. You arent in a quiet majority at all. Most people that have this complaint are smart enough to realize all they have to do is wait a day. Believe it or not, before they made this change people went into the raids severely overlevelled and it was a stompfest when mechanics were figured out, and it became a matter of who could get their level up the highest the fastest rather than actually just learning mechanics like it is now. Jesus. We get you arent skilled enough to do a day one raid. Most of the community isnt. The silent majority doesnt care and isnt this entitled to believe Bungie should cater to their every last whim.

6 通の返信Contest mode is not for us regular players. It’s ONLY for the streamers. Period. They ONLY allow us in there so as to make it LOOK like we all have a fair shot at getting it. Just my opinion though. (even though I’m right)

9 通の返信Agreed. This is not world of warcraft, no matter how many bungie devs want it to be. This is a first person shooter. We want to kill stuff and get loot. We don't want complex raid mechanics and someone at bungie doesn't seem to comprehend that because they spend too much time listening to datto and gladd. So many players have been driven away. All my old friends from d1 are gone.

2 通の返信TLDR. Finished the raid in 1.5 hours with 2 people who have never done it. You are just bad at the game.
-
1 返信if you have an anxiety attack over a raid, re-released raids should be the least of your worries.
-
25 通の返信Its almost like contest mode is optional, limited time, and hard on purpose for people who want to actually challenge themselves. you have literally every day for the rest of d2 to do vog normally. why are you complaining?
-
1 返信Just don’t do it Day1, contest mode last for 24 hr only. I don’t know what’s the problem in it.
-
if someone gets a "anxiety attacks and quit because you made it difficult in the worst way possible" has nothing to do with the difficulty of the raid. Its just a very soft snowflake that melts under pressure and maybe should see a psycologist or get theit shit together.

10 通の返信How tf you get “ anxiety attacks” for doing a raid. If you do, sorry to break it to you I think gaming is not for you.

2 通の返信No contest mode = wahhhh the streamers are overleveled and the content is a joke as it's too easy Contest mode = wahhhh the content is too hard bungie please make it easier

If you don't like contest mode, literally wait one day after it releases. That's it. One day. What's more stressful, dealing with contest, or forcing yourself to grind for dozens of hours to get the highest light level for the raid? I'm sorry that Destiny actually has difficult activities, how unfortunate that not literally everything in the game is catered around towards what you consider a fair amount of difficulty.

I ditto this person's comment in entirety. We have lost so many teammates in our clan due to the exact same complaints. This used to be a super fun game. We could carry someone through a raid and have a blast doing it. The raids now are so mechanic heavy that people get angry and quit. We can't even get enough clan mates to want to do a raid and we used to have people in line waiting for someone to have to leave.

2 通の返信If a video game is giving anyone “anxiety attacks” and they don’t just turn it off, I can’t feel bad for them tbh

Arizathにより編集済み: 5/24/2021 8:58:41 PM
but making it so that people have anxiety attacks and quit because you made it difficult in the worst way possible
"anxiety attacks" because of a challenge in a challenging activity of a video game. I just can't believe how people just grind for excuses to not feel responsible for not being able to beat challenges within ~24h. I would say that might be the lowest level a gaming community could ever reach.

15 通の返信Agreed doing Activities underleveld is no difficulty setting it's just poor gamedesign.

Rushにより編集済み: 5/24/2021 5:36:03 PMI do not expect Conquest Mode for Day 1 launches to ever change, gameplay-wise. Those challenges and the rewards from them are there for "best of the best" teams in the community who regularly take part in championship events, not groups of players who simply want to try their luck. However, on the subject of bugs, yes, it would be nice if those with specific mechanics of a raid were sorted out well ahead of launch. A lot of people (including some I know) on Day 1 encountered frequent issues with the Templar stage, and the Relic at the Atheon stage, forcing them to leave and re-join the raid from orbit... Making a smooth experience for the players Bungie actuallly want to take part shouldn't expect these kinds of game-breaking problems.

6 通の返信The raid is fine you crybaby. I cleared it three times yesterday with different people all while they were my first three attempts.
