Thats how their matchmaking goes, they take the top 6 players put them initially on a team and then switch the number 1 guy with the number 12 guy and call it balanced. It's done this way to force their 50/50 winrate mechanic.

Yeah, I don’t like that. If I was in charge I’d make the casual playlist completely random. I know some people won’t like that but that’s what casual should be. A playlist that randomly throws people together.

They stack the middle of the pack against the best player and team him up with the worst players. No matter if the best is only one point above the second best that player will always be paired with the worst.

There is NO 50% win rate mechanic Just really bad matchmaking & the end of the season. Fewer people playing leads to even more lopsided matches than is usual with CBMM & lobby balancing that clearly does not work. You also have a game mode -Control that most play as clash with points of interest and only go after kills & not the zones.

The next 5 crucible games you play check the elo and winrates of you, your teammates and the enemy team, there is plenty of evidence all around that it exists. Both Cozmo and DMG have stated that the goal of pvp is to have players be around 50-50 win lose to keep a healthy pvp playstate since having a game where you constantly win or lose is not enjoyable if someone wants to challenged and that having players win all the time at the expense of other players is not enjoyable. A 50-50 mechanic has been present since d1 and it was carried over into d2. Bungie senior designer Derek Carroll "The original design of Trials of Osiris employed no skill-matching whatsoever. Instead of expecting teams to win roughly 50% of their games (the goal of most matchmaking systems)..." This implies that outside of the trials setting where a different matching is used compared standard pvp, that a 50-50 system is in place.

I have an 8 win streak and a 22% win rate for this season & a friend with a 8 win streak & a 75% win rate so I do not believe in the "fixed" 50% win rate matchmaking. Maybe they would like a 50% win rate to keep people staying in the crucible but CBMM will always stop this. You are much more likely to have a 50% win rate with SBMM where the teams have a similar skill than a mismatch of skills with the current CBMM system. I wish everyone would stop pretending that 50% win rate fixing is a thing and focus on the real issues. PvP matchmaking is a total mess, CBMM is unfair to the majority of the playerbase & splitting the MM, removing the possibility of new gen matching old gen is quite frankly ridiculous when crossplay is coming in the not to distant future.

It’s a lobby balancing issue. They even admitted it in a Twab where they tried to fix it during the IB before last but still couldn’t get the bugs out. It’s literally in a twab. Know what you’re talking about before screaming about your biased false narrative.

I find you calling out someone for knowing what they are talking about, yet you introduce a statement about Trials into a discussion about Crucible. FWIW I am at 8% win rate for this Season, so how does that compute?

Season win percentages mean nothing, you go by account win percentages. 50% is most definitely a thing and it exists in all games where team base pvp exists. There actually an entire design based around the concept of keeping a player at a 50% win rate. I fully agree that matchmaking is terrible and I cbmm it even worse because the game still sets players to teams to keep that win rate at 50%.
