Not being a Bungie “fanHuman”, - like how I’m being inclusive just in case?
Those specific “content creators” leaving may actually be a good thing. Lot of negative changes from D1 to the current D2 were things those (among other known) content creators asked for during their summits with Bungie development.
Just because they have a cult-like following doesn’t make them the voice of the entire community.
In the end, you can’t really make everyone happy. I’m not happy with the current state of the game, but I’m pretty sure there are thousands of players who do not really mind it all that much. They just come in when there is something new, grind it out for a while and go back out into the wild until the next new thing becomes available.
I have not played anything as much as I’ve played Destiny since 2014. Seven years playing the same game series without paying attention to any other games. I’m pretty sure I’m older than most in these forums and that’s probably the reason why I’ve played the same game series for the past 7 years - old dogs don’t learn new tricks. I do however, understand that there is only so much I’m going to get out of a 10$ bill every couple of months.
The key to it all is to manage your expectations, or do as others have and Move On. Then and only then, will Bungie see the need to go the extra mile to get their audience back. Hopefully we don’t get hit by some new pandemic before they reach that conclusion. Teleworking and lack of accountability are not good for the video-game industry.
No company wants content creators to leave their game. I repeat, not one does. They advertise their product with daily and weekly videos where it’s all free for them. They also have big followings, however some are a bit over the top and full of themselves. The drastic drop in player numbers is faster than curse of Osiris, that has nothing to do with creators. Bungie has consistently made bad decisions in their vision and implementation of new innovations. Great ideas with bad implementation, which makes the original ideal a failure, not because it was bad. It’s just simply not implemented with the thoroughness required for success. The creators are simply stating the obvious lack of content currently in the game. New players have lots to do. Veterans from hard to medium casual do not. The next season looks promising, but so do most of them. Hopefully it will work out. Unfortunately, many of my friends are not purchasing the upcoming dlc. That’s strictly on Bungie.
I agree with in that no company wants content creators to leave. I didn’t mean them leaving may have been a good thing for Bungie, it was more in line with being good for the community as a whole.
