If people ever figured out that hand cannons aren't even the best weapons in the game, people might stop using them so much. But considering hand cannons are the favorite weapon type of the community, it won't change. Almost all of the primary weapons in the sandbox are very well balanced and there aren't many changes that could be made without ruining it.

Simple. Aim. Dont be a dud. Land your shots. The time to kill for all auto rifles except for precision frames is faster than all hand cannons (but are still faster than 120 hand cannons btw). You even have a little room for error and can still come out on top.

Primaries are good? I have yet to see smg’s have a place in the game, auto rifles take so much flinch from hand cannons that its ttk goes out the window, bows are still pretty bad unless its le monarque or the kinetic bow introduced in beyond light, side arms are non existent as long as felwinter exist. Scouts that are not the 150’s are lacking, 450 pulse rifles are terrible and any auto rifle thats not a 600 gets wrecked easily. Don’t say primaries are good when they really aren’t, there is a lot for the sandbox team to fix or buff

Eh idk about that. Smgs, for certain. They have not had a place in the sandbox ever since recluse was nerfed, other than maybe low rate of fire smgs but even so, not that great. Side arms though? They've been good for a long time and still are and people have just been sleeping on them. Only thing holding them back right now is the special ammo economy being as unchecked as it is. Scouts are actually quite good in general. Their problem comes from the lack of any maps being designed for them. If there were betting places to use them in, I'd be all over them right now. Pulses are pretty good right now and honestly, high impacts are probably the best weapons in the game. Auto rifles are all generally good except for precision frames (I still get ripped by 600rpms). And of course we already know about hand cannons, which could do with a range nerf. All around, you can succeed with pretty much anything. Theres nothing really blatantly good/op or bad (aside from the aforementioned smgs and auto rifles type) By the way, I didnt mention bows. Theres nothing i can see being done to bows without making them stupid over powered. They are good weapons in their own right but it takes a high level of skill for them to be good. And thats why you don't see them often. That's probably a hot take, but meh.

High impact pulses. Optimal time to kill of .67 seconds, a whole .2 faster than hand cannons. Ive been using stars and shadow. The thing is a monster. Been 2 bursting people all over the place. Most autos and pulses also still have a faster time to kill.

Does not matter unfortunately. Peek shooting is much stronger. And with all the damage being compacted into one bullet, it's better for teamshotting. Fast TTK has never really been a factor for weapon performance in this game.

Auto rifles would like a word with you. The ability to kill before another opponent can get enough shots off to kill you is huge. And currently, if you aren't missing, pulses and autos can do that. Plus, if you miss 1 shot with a hand cannon, your as good as dead. Time to kill is a huge factor in any pvp environment. No its not everything, but its nothing small at all.

Aight man whatever you say. I seem to find myself in more open gun fights than gunfights that use cover. Plus the average player won't be able to peak shoot very effectively anyway. But if you say so. I'll just go back to dunking on people before they even get the chance with my stars and shadows since no one wants to open their eyes, and im ok with that.

Thats what im sayin man. That thing is hella good without perks. And mine has outlaw and kill clip with a range masterwork. The thing is crazy. Im perfectly fine with it flying under the radar. More fun for me and the other few pulse rifle users, and for a longer period of time as well.

Because you are telling facts, last season people where using side arms the most i had ever seen, it was really annoying, i swear they were hitting at low handcannon ranges! I love handcannons i wont lie about that and your right they are easy to use at entry level. Ill say easy to use at beginner level with a high skill ceiling. Also i havent seen a lot of people using that pulse rifle but the few people that where and are good, where shredding with it. Its like this seasons gnawing hunger, in the sense that god rolls are dropping left and rite. I dont ever use pulse rifles any more but i have 3 very nice ones in vault, i have a hard time scraping most good weapons with good rolls. Anyway keep slaying out GGs.

I like using it in tandem with bottom tree gunslinger and the new throwing knife exotic gauntlets. Easy 2 burst kills with the rifle, which in turn powers up my weighted knives for 1 shots to the body and insane tracking. Dont get much better than that

♤♧♡♢により編集済み: 1/11/2021 7:38:53 PMAs long as you are hitting your crits. High impacts are 5 crit, 1 body for that ttk. You miss even 1 crit and you're now at a 3 burst. Burst weapons are harder for repeated crit hits against moving targets. 120 HCs are 2 crit, 1 body from insane ranges, and that's usually easier to accomplish, especially given the higher aim assist HCs have. When you're talking 40+ meter range for 120's and can peek shoot, most people still see them as having the advantage.

♤♧♡♢により編集済み: 1/11/2021 8:19:44 PMI'm good with them the way they are based on their higher ttk. That's really the tradeoff. The reason you don't see more high impact pulses is for a couple reasons I think. 1. People don't want to take the time to get the muscle memory down for them. In the right hands though, these pulses will wreck people. People are already used to HCs for the most part, so the only learning curve is their slower fire rate. 2. Pulses seem to have a stigma attached to them and are referred to as "dad rifles". It's "cooler" to just be like everyone else and use a HC. I use the 120 HCs on maps where I know I can take advantage of their range. On maps where most engagements will be closer, you are at a disadvantage using one and would be better off using a 140 if you still want to use a HC.

Yes. I fully agree with you. The community is just so hard pressed to find the best thing in the game thats the easiest to use and that really seems to be the case with handcannons. While I dont think they are the absolute easiest primary to use (that goes to auto rifles), hand cannons seem to be the favorite of the community (myself included. I run them even when they're out of meta) which is why I feel like they're so popular now. They arent the absolute best, but everything is balanced enough right now where it doesn't need to be the best to get good use
