Why waste all assets you already have in the game, that with some love, still have a huge potential?
See the problems that Cyberpunk 2077 is having trying to run on base PS4 and Xbox 1. Bungie has repeated told us that the game was getting too big to run well....and we console players have been saying that the load times were brutal, and frame rate drops were so frequent that they were just part of the experience with some content.
With the vaulting of old (dead) content, and the recoding of parts of the game, the game runs 10X better now than it did this time last year on console. For the price of locations I seldom went to, and content that I seldom played?
It's been a huge QoL improvement.

It’s running poorly because of the stress that is being put on its processors. The size of the game that sits on the hard drive isn’t the issue. It’s the demands that game places on the CPU and the GPU is what matters. The game on the hard drive can get bigger while at the same time the code is being streamlined to run more efficiently. Which is why I keep saying that—-unless you know how that code is written—-you can’t say what is or is any “easy” or “possible” for the devs to do. PCs and the current Gen console have anywhere between 2-4x the RAM that PS4 and Xbox 1 have....and cpus that are so much faster and more powerful it isn’t even funny. Which is why they were able to run Cyberpunk without bottlenecking and having super slow frame rates.

Load times were already improving slowly before beyond light. At this point I don't care about the technical things. I would rather play the menagerie then do a wrathborn hunt. I don't care how old it is or if you don't want to play it. Menagerie will always be more engaging and fun then chasing some yellow health target into some cave. Let me ask you this? Why go to the cosmodrome over some of this other content? It's barren and overall useless, it's not even the whole thing from d1 and is a shadow of the d1 versions. At least with the plaguelands we had archons forge which gave unique weapons and armor. I would rather do that then a lost sector for some blue weapons with set rolls. I would rather play old content that has been around awhile then be left with a barren wasteland of a game. At least the menagerie still felt alive and was a fun activity with great loot. I'd do that over lost sectors on nessus on the edz. Also they say the need the space for future content yet seasonal content will still get removed once the season has ended. Let's look at it from a new players perspective. They get the cosmodrome which is usless after the quest. The EDZ which hands out expired loot, Nessus which hands out expired loot. The moon which is locked behind dlc which only gives expired loot. Tangled Shore and The Dreaming City which give expired loot. Europa which will soon have expired loot in the coming seasons. I used to be pro sunsetting and pro vaulting. But you have to admit that losing all this content SUCKS. We'll have to explain to new players why our exotic weapons do an extra thing when theirs can't. When they ask how can they upgrade their guns to work like ours we will have to explain that they can't. But after all it's for the good of the game. The game being barren is somehow good for it? One of the arguments from the prosunneting crowd is that they need to do it to make guns worth it over the other ones. I made this point, but then I got a reply explaining one thing.
How the guns felt. At first I was perplexed by his answer. But he went on to explain how he was hoping a getting a moon handcannon and he got the god roll but it was a week before sunset. He liked the sound and how it felt and looked forward to using it in beyond light.
He then went on to talk about how people still would use season activity weapons. New perks and new sounds and feeling. They already nerfed damge perks back in shadowkeep so people are more willing to experiment. Line in the Sand, The Seventh Searph SAW, PoTC and breachlight are some of my favorites. They don't need damage perks to be good. Finally the biggest issue with bungies attempt at sunsetting is the fact old gear is being reissued. If this is the case why sunset in the first place. If nightwatch is safe, why stop their give people spare rations or outlast back. Quite hypocritical of the main intention. You can't treat d2 like a mmo. The gear is to unique and not just some tool with numbers. Bungie staff put great time into gun sounds and gun play. That is destinys biggest strength and why other games always can't kill it. Bungie shouldn't throw that strength away otherwise the game is destined to die off.

You are nothing more than a Bungo lap dog. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a Luke Smith burner account. What they removed lots of people played. Taking it away and the weapons too has ruined the game in it's entirety. You continue to praise their efforts when everyone feels jipped by Bungo. Here's a bone for you LAP DOG!! STFU

TheArtistにより編集済み: 1/1/2021 6:05:04 AMWord of advice. Temper tantrums stop being cute when you start speaking in complete sentences. Never minda when you're able to write them out in paragraphs. What I am is an adult who understands that the world is bigger than what I happen to want at the moment...and that there are limits that prevent the world from being able to give me exactly what I want exactly when I want it. ....and I can live with that fact without losing my shit and verbally abusing other people. With the old content....the game ran like shit on console. Just like Cyberpunk is running like shit on the base consoles from last gen. Without the old content....the game runs much better. So it simply comes down to which has the greater impact on my experience of playing the game. Getting to go run bounties on Mercury or Titan? And farming for three year old loot on Leviathan...... Or not having to deal with 7 minute load times into the Tower.....three minute load times from orbit everytime I want to go to planet..... ....and having frame rate drops so frequent in Gambit that they are just part of the experience. Because the CPU on PS4 Pro is constantly bottlenecking from the strain.

Turtにより編集済み: 1/3/2021 4:40:47 AMWas reminded of this post from a notification, but just to clarify here. You think d2 pre-beyond light ran at the same speeds as cyberpunk? (on ps4/xbox one) I just saw a ign review that said the game struggled to keep framerate in the 20’s during normal gameplay and crashed frequently. Ive never had any crashes except after beyond light, and its happened like 4 times now. Not to sound mean or anything but if you mean that d2 ran like cyberpunk its a flat out lie

TheArtistにより編集済み: 1/3/2021 10:35:10 AMMissed the point completely. But at times during Gambit matches, in terms of frame rate drops.....and trying to load into the Tower and it taking seven minutes? Yes. It did run as poorly. The console experience had deteriorated to the point that the game’s performance was unacceptable. The problems were just episodic rather than the global ones Cyberpunk served up. And if you think this game didn’t have stability problems before Beyond Light? You must either be a new player, or weren’t paying attention. Shit. The animal names for the various error codes the game serves up when it crashes are -blam!-ing meme around here. Except for the first week or so when the rolled out the new network structure, the game is MORE stable now on console. Not less.

Turtにより編集済み: 1/3/2021 10:29:55 PMIm not sure what bad connections people had but the only times i got error coded were in comp/trials matches from people messing with lobbies and when the zero hour mission died after it tried to bring you back to the farm. The game has never crashed in the entire lifetime ive played it except after beyond light dropped so i would say it has gotten worse not better. Yes load times are better yes i dont get stuck in load zones for 20 seconds but i sure dont spend any time playing the game since ive done it all already Its also kinda funny how you say i must be new when you literally arent even gm ready. I play this game constantly and you’re saying i dont notice things.

That's like saying to the people who can't get Cyblerpunk to run on PS4 that they just need to go to the PC version of the game. The point is that every version of the game being sold should RUN well....because they're paying the same money.
-
I mean you know what you’re getting into when you buy d2. Its a massively multiplayer online game yea its gonna be big and your console is gonna struggle. Cyberpunk just decided to try and run a game way to big for last gen and didnt get away with it
But they didn’t just remove the dead stuff. They removed some really relevant content with it.
No they didn't. They removed Mercury, Io, Titan and the Leviathan. All of it was two-three year old content that basically either no one played....or only played to either farm weapons for The Crucible or to massage the progression system.
but what’s new?
Bungie has created new content and new loot farms. But in typical Destiny community fashion, eveyrone is too busy looking backwards and being mad about that, to actually give what's right in front of them a fair shot.

You mean the same tedious grind for leveling up a fake number to allow us into certain activities? Nah. We never gave that a shot.
-
Look I’ve given this a fair shot. It’s just not cutting it. It’s dry. I think there’s great potential in what they’ve done but that’s still nothing new. They always seem to be just a bit off from having a great product. And if people are playing it, no matter the reason, it is not dead content.
-
1. No one said you had to like what they are doing. Taste is subjective. 2. The fact is that they did not cut "relevant" content by any reasonable definition of that term. If you dont' like it. Just say you don't like it.
-
Why should that be considered the only relevant content. See, to me, relevant content is content people play to get relevant weapons. Relevant weapons are ones people use (think ikelos smg for pve or dire for pvp).
