Let’s do some math you can follow destiny 1 the a subclass could be built 6561 ways, in destiny 2 the hunter stasis class has 105 not even comparable 😂. Destiny isn’t a dead game it’s still has thousands and thousands or players and sometimes has more than destiny 2 lol. Even if it was how does that not make it comparable that makes no sense. Destiny 1 did have synergies with armor, weapons, and abilities, even more because their subclasses were infinitely more customizable than anything in d2. Idk what you’re talking about with nerfs you’re just making stuff up at this point, d1 was infamously bad about not nerfing anything. Remember when they let ghallarhorn dominate everything and control who can use lfg and they didn’t touch it for a year.

  • Destiny 1 is a dead game. One that was built on an entirely different frame work. So comparisons here are not relevant. This is about what can be done with the foundation that Destiny 2 was built upon, in order to break us out of the locked builds we had foisted on us three years ago. What Bungie has done is an ELEGANT solution to that problem, and one that can be EXPANDED UPON as the years go by. Aspects and fragments are basically ability mods. Allowing our abilities to be added onto much like the perk pools in weapons and armor are added onto. This was an impressively smart and simple solution.

  • 1. Its a dead game because no additional content or support (besides keeping the lights on and the servers running) is being provided for the game. 2. Its not relevant because D1 was built on a different foundation than Destiny 2 was, and was built with a different foundation. So waxing nostalgic about what was possible in D1, is not relevant beyond pointing to the need for greater customization of the Light Subclasses in D2. 3. Like so many Destiny players, you are looking through the lense of what the game USED to be, rather than looking at what it is NOW, and where it can go from where it is. Prior to Stasis, each subclass was basically locked into three unchanging combinations of abilities. The only things you could change were your grenade...your jump....and what your class ability does. With Stasis---and the new system---- you have 6 different fragments you can combine in any way you wish...plus two aspects...plus the three greandes, three jumps and two class abilities that were ported over from the old system. What you keep failing to see is that this system not only offers you dozens of different build options based on how you choose to combine the fragments..... ....the system can be expanded upon to any degree that Bungie wishes. Something that neither D1 nor earlier versions of D2 allowed. ...and Bungie smartly set up the system so that there are synergies between these new abilities...and your weapons...and your armor. Again, expanding the customization and play style options way beyond what was possible before. As OdinsKnight and I were talking about earlier, The Warlock Rift ability combines with Vesper of Radius' exotic perk. So when you drop a rift, you basically create this incredibly NASTY defensive bubble that: 1. freezes anything inside of it. 2. hits it with an arc-based shockwave that shatters most add immediately. 3. Then KNOCKS BACK any larger enemies that it can't kill 4. Then with armor 2.0 you can create synergies where use of your class ability this way creates more ability energy...more super energy....boots the damage on your weapons. ...in short you create this cycle where the build just keeps feeding ability energy or damage bonuses to itself. Which was not possible in D1.

https://youtu.be/-3DObSya5gY This is what the new system allows us to do (which we couldn't do before). But you have to stop looking backwards and actually engage with what is present in the game right now. ...and be wiling to see the possibilities going forward. Beause the game used to be locked into a situation where it had no ability get us power to us except in the form of new weapon perks. Especially exotic perks. But Bungie can just keep adding on to this new system as much as they want.

  • Wow combining mods and exotics couldn’t do that before, oh wait. Why look to the future instead of looking what we have now that we play with now. Just because they might add new fragments or aspects in a year doesn’t do anything for the game right now and doesn’t improve any issues. If they really cared to make the subclasses customizable they’d let you fully customize your subclass from your perks to your melee

What do you think build-crafting IS? What do you think 90% of games like Warframe and The Division 2 is? ...and if you're going to mock this, WTF did you do for the last two years when all there was to this game was "Farm for the God rolls of a few weapon classes, and then RUN THE META while you pop heads?" You see that's the problem with this whole mockery thing...and looking backwards thing. Where you stand is a function of where you sit...and what you're defending can look stupid and shallow to someone else.
Just because they might add new fragments or aspects in a year doesn’t do anything for the game right now and doesn’t improve any issues
Actually it does. Because it has opened up a lot of new ways to play the game...and a created a lot of new "loot pools" within the game. Now if you choose not to engage with it...because you're looking backwards and trying to cling to a version of the game that doesn't exist anymore (literally) then that is **unfortunate**. But it doesn't give you a leg to stand on with regards to claiming that nothing is being done. ...and nothing is being fixed. BECAUSE IT IS...AND THEY ARE. You just aren't getting what YOU want as an individual gamer. Once again...unfortunate.
If they really cared to make the subclasses customizable they’d let you fully customize your subclass from your perks to your melee
IOW, how to BREAK a game in one fell swoop...with one careless gesture. Bungie hasn't been able to return Trials to the game, because they've brought a new level of customization to ONE new subclass. It would have been sheer MADNESS if they had tried to add a new one....plus renovate all three Light classes at the same time. You can't scrap a house off its foundation....and rebuild it from the ground up.... ...while STILL TRYING TO LIVE IN IT. Bungie is limited in how much they can change, and how fast...BECAUSE WE ARE STILL **PLAYING** THIS GAME EVERY DAY. Pluse we expect new content for it every three months.

“What do you think 90% of games like Warframe and The Division 2 is?” I think those are games with infinitely more customizable options than anything destiny has idk how they’re relevant though. “...and if you're going to mock this, WTF did you do for the last two years when all there was to this game was "Farm for the God rolls of a few weapon classes, and then RUN THE META while you pop heads?" I didn’t really play the last two years expect dlc drops and then stop after 2 weeks of a dlc cause the game felt boring again so why play. “You see that's the problem with this whole mockery thing...and looking backwards thing. Where you stand is a function of where you sit...and what you're defending can look stupid and shallow to someone else.” Idk what’re saying and I don’t think you do either “Actually it does. Because it has opened up a lot of new ways to play the game...and a created a lot of new "loot pools" within the game. “ It hasn’t created any new loot pools?! That doesn’t even make sense, Bungie assigning drops to different encounters do. “Now if you choose not to engage with it...because you're looking backwards and trying to cling to a version of the game that doesn't exist anymore (literally) then that is **unfortunate**.” What am I clinging to? You just keep making up nonsense maybe you’re replies wouldn’t be essay if you thought before you typed “But it doesn't give you a leg to stand on with regards to claiming that nothing is being done. ...and nothing is being fixed. BECAUSE IT IS...AND THEY ARE. You just aren't getting what YOU want as an individual gamer. Once again...unfortunate.” Bungie isn’t doing shit to fix the game they just want to make more off eververse and have a platform to show it off in. Idk what you’re second point is again is it that I shouldn’t want things in a game? “IOW, how to BREAK a game in one fell swoop...with one careless gesture. Bungie hasn't been able to return Trials to the game, because they've brought a new level of customization to ONE new subclass. It would have been sheer MADNESS if they had tried to add a new one....plus renovate all three Light classes at the same time. “ Bungie being too incompetent to properly implement something into the game shouldn’t scare off actual changes that need to happen. “Look to the future” and think of all the possibilities actual subclass build would do. 😂 “Bungie is limited in how much they can change, and how fast...BECAUSE WE ARE STILL **PLAYING** THIS GAME EVERY DAY. Pluse we expect new content for it every three months.” Bungie is in control of when they make content if it’s too much slow down, destiny was never better than Taken King and Rise of Iron, both only had the one drop.
